When facing the restaurant, take 2 steps back and turn right. Walk until you get to the restaurant in the next street on the right... or anywhere else.
Funny or not, we ate here last weekend, it was an extremely disappointing experience in terms of service, food quality, atmosphere, cleanliness and value for money.
Value for money - very bad - prices are extremely high, for Spain, for anywhere. 24 euro for burrata (example) is something you could maybe, maybe, expext at a Michelin star restaurant. NISI is not. But, if the quality of the food would have been amazing, which we hoped for based on reviews, we would have no complaints. An absolute no-go IMO is the charge for bread basket, while they also charge coperto... I have never seen this once in Italy, the coperto of course is as expected, but not also charging for grissini etc.
You can have an excellent meal in the immediate area for 50% of the price, we had several meals in the area this week.
The service - poor - our waiter was not unfriendly, but not really professional. I mean, looking at the price level, we should expect an excellent service level, fast and courteous. No, the service was very slow, it took a lot of time get our waiter's attention, for taking up drinks, food, bill. Staff appeared very focused on greeting and paying attention to the regular (international) customers. Our plates were dusty dirty and needed replacing (the plates were interestingly colorful). When we shared our feedback about the food, we felt completely ignored, nothing was offered, not even an apology
The location is quite good, close to the main parking area. The seating is in the street, which has potential. The audience is mostly people with money to spend...
The food quality was disappointing to extremely disappointing. Our daughter really looked forward to a kids pizza. What she got you can see in the photo, 4 pieces of dried out dough. As supposedly genuine Italian restaurant, how can you sell this as pizza? The quality a simple shame. My wife had the lobster spaghetti which was near cold. My osso buco quite fatty, if this really is Wagyu I would rather pass next time.
Luckily the city has...
Read moreWe waited 45 minutes for our mains after finishing our starters, and didn’t like the food.
My steak was chewy and tasted like a cheap cut of meat - and the truffle tortellini dish, gets you 3 tortellinis for €26 with a sauce that was watery and bland.
Our waitress was very nice and apologised at the end, she explained that they were short staffed, so the kitchen was overwhelmed. However, they continued to add tables onto the street after they were already full for more people, clearly not wanting to turn anyone’s money away.
We did get a free tiramisu by way of apology which was appreciated, and they gave everyone some crema di limoncello with the bill; but this didn’t really make up for the experience especially considering the very high prices.
Beware that they also add hidden extras to the bill. They charge for “covers”, which is basically a fee for eating in their restaurant- it was an extra €1.50 per person, including for our 2 year old toddler. When I ordered my steak I was also asked if I wanted the peppercorn sauce on the side, and the way it was phrased sounded like it would otherwise come on the steak directly so I said yes, sure. Turns out the peppercorn sauce was an additional €4 on the bill (and I didn’t even eat it anyways as it tasted strange).
To conclude, we felt a bit ripped off and found plenty of other restaurants where we get much better value, more honest prices and higher...
Read moreThe waiters were friendly and attentive, however the food was hit and miss.
We started with the croquettes and the focaccia. They were both very tasty, although €12 for a few pieces of bread is ridiculous.
Then we had our mains. I had the tagliatelle with sirloin steak, mushrooms and fresh truffle. The taste of the dish was nice, however the pasta was extremely underdone, way before al dente. Additionally, I only had 3 very small pieces of steak in the whole dish.
My girlfriend had the braised beef ravioli. The filling of the pasta was very nice, however the pasta on this dish was also extremely underdone, with raw & hard pasta. Also, the peppercorn sauce that coated the ravioli literally tasted...
