Verdeteja — Restaurant in Alcúdia

My FAVORITE spot in Alcúdia! We stayed in town for 5 days and we, thankfully, found this gem on our first day. I was in search of a matcha AND with oat milk, which is near impossible to find on Mallorca. BUT Verdeteja has it! I honestly wasn't expecting much, but was then blown away by everything about this place. The spot is quaint, bustling, has friendly staff, and delicious food and drinks. It's a great spot for grab-and-go, or to stay. Every time, we opted to stay and typically were there for a couple of hours, easily. The matcha is DELICIOUS, their pastries/treats are as well. The prices are very reasonable -- it is cash only, so be prepared! The atmosphere is great - just the right amount of noisy that you feel like there's life around you but not too much that you can't think, it's on a quiet side street but close enough to the "center". The staff of women are so sweet and attentive. They're hard workers and I very much appreciated that they remembered us after only one visit and remembered my ritual of matcha. As a vegan - it was overall okay. I had the Mallorca pizza and banana peanut butter “ice cream” - which was really frozen banana blended with peanut butter, would not call it true ice cream. Maybe it was time of day I went (1pm, on a market day) but vegan options were lacking from pastries/window display. I was surprised because this place is often mentioned as great for vegans. The owner was very sweet. Definitely worth checking out but if you are vegan don’t count on it for a filling lunch.
