Horchatería Azul — Restaurant in Alicante

I need a loyalty card for this place. Even if you don't like horchata, come for chocolate granizado, lemon granizado, coffee granizado. We've tried these all. I wish we had time to try the yogurt, almond and oat version as well. Lemon granizado is the best you'll find in Alicante since it's pure lemon juice, not lemonade, there's nothing more refreshing. Chocolate granizado is creamy and such a good sweet treat. Their coffee option is super interesting, as it's sweet black coffee, not the creamy concoction you'd get somewhere else. However, if you're like me and love your coffee sweet, creamy and not like coffee at all, ask for blanco y negro, where you get a scoop of ice cream on top. Reasonable prices, card payments...

Really cute horchateria! Went here because of the high ratings and also a friend told me it was good. She was right! The place is small and gets crowded easily but luckily 3pm on a Wednesday was smooth sailing. The menu is in Spanish only. We ordered a hazelnut and almond horchata. The counter staff was so nice even giving us a free sample of another popular drink. The large size was 2.60€. The taste was great and it was perfect for a midday...

Family run business. Horchata amazing, they also serve homemade spooned slushes (lemon, avellana-hazelnut, …), fresh pastries (esaimadas, donuts and fartons-to be dipped in horchata liquida). A must try is horchata slush with coffee… delicious. You can also get horchata in takeaway respomsible plastic containers with sealed cap (to be reused when coming back… cause you will come back for some more horchata).
