I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, the chef is extremely welcoming and warm. The starters we were recommended was some bread with aioli and tomato sauce. I’m not always the biggest fan of bread, but this bread is so delicious; a perfect crispy surface and a really amazing soft inside. And the aioli and black aioli were such an amazing fatty flavor against the acidic tomato sauce.
The paella itself was comes out on a traditional big pan, and pretty much everything comes out perfectly. The rice has that perfect slightly burnt edges, and it was incredibly satisfying scraping this off and tasting the flavors it gave. The absolute star ingredient must be accredited to the octopus that gave a quite smooth texture profile against the crunchy rice edges. If I would fault this dish for anything, I’d say that tuna was a bit overcooked and it unfortunately comes off as a bit dry and doesn’t blend well with the dish, a confit or a light sear would probably work better. But overall this dish is just beyond what I could imagine I’d just find randomly, and at this price point.
Granted we were here around 3 pm, but this restaurant was completely empty and it under no circumstances deserves this. I urge you to visit this restaurant if you’re in Alicante, it’s an amazing opportunity to enjoy...
Read moreI did a lot of research to find my friends and I a proper restaurant, and thought this might be it; but… this was a total bummer.
The waiter we got was rude and straight up served me drinks and food with ingredients that I’m allergic to. I specifically told him that I could not have any sugar nor gluten, so we went through the menu together, but I was surprisingly served sangria with regular soda and food with gluten. I noticed pretty early on (thankfully), but had had a taste. When I commented on my discovery, he was rude, started arguing, and ended up yelling at both me and my friend (who said it was bad service to act the way he did).
I noticed that the dinner I had ordered, and my friends had had a taste of, was removed and then served to the table next to us. Not very hygienic.
The only good thing about this place was that I didn’t have to pay for the dinner due to his mistake. But I had to pay with having an uneasy stomach for the rest...
Read moreI would like to share my experience at this restaurant. Unfortunately, I have to admit that the service and prices did not meet our expectations. We ordered one Paleja, which is listed in the menu at 15€ and is intended for one person, but Paleja is meant for at least two people, so the price for one should be at least 30€. They served us two Palejas and charged us as if for four, which was a big surprise and an unpleasant experience. Additionally, we ordered soup, but it was not served to us. Furthermore, at one point, the waitress started speaking to us in Russian, which was a bit strange and inappropriate. Overall, the visit was disappointing, and we did not feel comfortable. I hope that in the future, the service standards and price transparency...
