Absolutely not nice experience. Arrive late-ish to be told the kitchen was closed no problem, we weren't looking for food but an option wouldve been nice. So we just had a drink, which was nice but my partners was wrong sangria con cava was sin cava lol 😆. Spaniards arrive beside us and order food. Its not racism but its certainly not pleasant.

I didnt make any complaints or anything like that, finished our drinks and went to pay.

Edit: they tried to apologise and tried to give us shots. Knocked a drink off the price against my wishes. Then we realised the price being charged was wrong anyway, they were over charging us by a euro....

A delightful setting outdoors, if a touch windy in winter. Indoors isn't much to commend. In a principal square it's just a delight.

Great for coffee and other drinks and idling time away.

The food appeared generally adequate and my chips were satisfactory.

Andreas, the young waiter, is a star! Not only very handsome, but polite, friendly, attentive and efficient. And what's more a highly skilled linguist with competence in French, Spanish and English. I hope they pay him well as he is surely the ideal employee for this location.

Lovely for drinks and just being I think would...

We visited this restaurant Plaza 2 in Alicante twice during our stay – and we were very happy both times! The service was extremely friendly and attentive, and we felt welcome right away. The food was really tasty – fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care.

We especially appreciated the daily menu they offered us – it was honest, generous, delicious, and very reasonably priced. We never felt like we were being overcharged or treated unfairly – quite the opposite: the hospitality here felt genuine.

Great atmosphere, lovely staff, and delicious food – we can definitely...

Great little place, would highly recommend. We went for lunch with our 9 month and 3 year old, they are family friendly and brought out a high chair. This location is really handy, just by the harbour but off the main road. There's enough going on in the square to be interesting. Food was authentic, quality and fresh. Menu of the day was great value at €18pp - we had mixed salad, calamari and fish, shared paella and cake/coffee. Serving staff were lovely and helpful. There are blankets and heaters if you get a little cold as we did in the shade in February.

On either side of the small square tucked away behind the waterfront are two local coffee shops that retain a Spanish vibe, in the shade. Unlike the restaurants in the neighboring streets, they don't seem to have been bought out by the British, so you can still eat Spanish toast and drink bitter coffee here. Although in general the Spaniards don't eat much breakfast, you can find locals here having breakfast or sipping coffee. The traffic is not too heavy, so you can have a quiet breakfast or sip another cup of coffee and watch the waiting city
