Of the many places in Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura to eat, I would say 50 percent are dedicated to English breakfasts. There is a lot of competition and I think I am underestimating it as well. And of the few places we tried this ranked Second for me and first for my wife. She absolutely loved the white coffee here. I really enjoyed the breakfast too, but there are some caveats. This is not a reflection on the Goose and Firkin but the whole island, I think. Personally the sausages here are ok, not good or great. Of the things the goose and Firkin doesn't do well ... serves boxed orange juice (common), the toliet don't smell nice (not the worst, but a problem in certain restaurants in the area), the toast was cold. Sadly they also deep fat fry the mushrooms, not shallow fry on the grill. I didn't spot it straight away but it does put a different taste on it. But as to the breakfast, its better and the same as many other places. Honestly I am not sure that the image is of the big breakfast. The tea, and the water here, is top notch. (No scum, very clear, but don't drink unboiled.) All this I would highly recommend this place for your...
Read moreGreat meal tonight with hubby at the Goose and Firkin. We have eaten here many times over the past 10 years of visiting Caleta De Fuste. Our expectations were meet, friendly polite staff apologised that the toilet was out of order. We ordered our drinks straight away and the food about five minutes after. Quick serve no long wait for food or the bill.
We received 4 slices of free garlic bread. Our starter garlic bread with tomato, had too much garlic for me. Very filling, lovely tomato. My husband had a 7.50 euro vegetable curry, massive in size with rice and chips and I had the spaghetti bol for 8.50. The fish looked amazing that the tablet had next to us.
Will try to visit again over the next week.
Two courses for two with a beer and appetiser and water for 31.39 was very...
Read morePopped in here on our first night in CDF . Not planned at all but as we really needed something to eat and the menu looked very varied. Started with garlic bread with cheese which consisted of two small slice's of baguette with sliced cheese on . I had the Chicken Kiev which was splendid and up there the best I've had. Huge crispy and oozing with garlic butter. Wifey had chicken breast in a garlic tomato sauce, and although very nice was half the size of my chicken breast. The house white was a bit ropey , would choose the Vina Sol if visiting again. Good value for money in a bit of a canteeny...
