d3 — Restaurant in Antigua

I guess we should have given the place a miss when we seen how busy it was but given the good reviews and the closeness it was too our appartment we thought we would give d3 a visit.

When we arrived we were told that there wasnt any seats available but if we could just wait at the table opposite the front door then they would get us a table properly inside the restaurant so that we didnt have to endure the very cold drafts everytime someone opened the door. However as more and more people came in and were seated inside it was obvious that this was never going to happen and lo and behold the placemats and cutlery arrived and we were left at the door. The place got very busy and as no-one was turned away that they were determined to get as many people in and waiting as possible. Every new arrival was greated with the "if you can wait in the garden we will only be 5 -10 minutes (even when there was about 20 arrivals and no seats to be had) I suspect a number were forced to eat out in the cold and we certainly seen a few give up and leave.

With regards to the food my wife wanted a simple Spaghetti Bolognese and I not being a big fan of Italian food opted to go for a simple Fish and Chips. Both dishes arrived within a couple of minutes which really didnt fill me with hope that they would of any sort of quality and I wasn't dissapointed. When I asked how the Bolognese was, the response was ok but no better than a microwave version you would buy at a supermarket. As for my Fish and Chips, well they were awful. The fish was 2 small pieces of frozen fish that were tasteless. The majority of my meal was left as my wifes Bolognese was probably tasted of more fish than mine.

Sadly this has been the worst meal we have had in Fuertaventura this year and while I am sure others will have had very good meals in the place for us it will be one to...

WOW, what a find, this place is so unassuming it's crazy. Firstly, Now I am no critique but I have consumed many cocktails on this island and I must say that here, is by far the best yet, and I will challenge anyone to beat it. So my congratulations guys fantastic 😁

On to the food, I'm sad say that into a 7 day holiday we only stopped in for dinner on the 6th evening only because this place really is so unassuming, we will be returning tomorrow evening for sure. Seriously you do want to try this place. 🫶

The starter of avocado and prawns was delicious as were the iberian ham croquettes. For main we had Ox cheek, absolutely brilliant, melting in your mouth! And beef fillet stroganoff again very very tasty. Portion size was good, I like to fill up and i was not at all dissatisfied with our two courses.

Round this off with some great interaction with the staff who were so friendly and welcoming we have had an amazing meal and entertaining evening.

First place in the city to have genuine and good customer service - lovely attitude and taking care of everyone equally. We were received well of from the first moment to the last and the introduction of dishes was excellent with good English. My travel companion has very severe and difficult allergies, causing many limitations and finding quality food has been a struggle - but here they were taken seriously and food offered was done with care and flavor in mind. My Paella was delicious and the portion was Big. The selection of different dishes and desserts is wide and the gelatos were very refreshing too. We will come again, and I would definitely recommend the place. Thank you for the nice experience!
