Together with my family, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mar Dorado Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! Situated by the serene sea, the views are breathtaking, adding an extra touch of magic to the evening. The atmosphere is delightful, with just the right balance of ambiance and relaxing vibes – plus, the music is never too loud, allowing for easy conversation.

What truly stands out, though, is the impeccable food quality. The salmon tartare and paella are absolute highlights – both dishes are exceptional in taste and presentation.

However, what truly makes your dining experience exceptional is the warm and welcoming staff. Joseph, Isidor, and the restaurant manager from Marrakesh (apologies if I misspelled your names) go above and beyond to ensure you feel at home. Their friendliness and attentiveness truly makes you feel like part of the Mar Dorado family.

Overall, Mar Dorado Restaurant is a gem by the sea, offering not only exquisite cuisine but also stunning views, a pleasant atmosphere, and a team of super-friendly staff who make every visit feel special. It's no wonder it's become our family's favorite spot for dinner – we can't wait to return for another memorable...

We had this place booked for our last night as it looked great, but unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to our expectations.

Had an ominous feeling when the bread and dipping sauces came out. We both love garlic, but the garlic dip was really raw. Rosemary oil lacked flavour and seemed like thin oil, and the butter was indeterminate.

My black pudding starter was okay but was a mountain, which I suppose would have been great if it had any depth. My main of fried goat was just fried bones and fat. Again my partner got a mountain of croquettes which could have done with some kind of decent sauce and a fillet steak, which was nice enough but served with some fairly soggy chips. In a restaraunt that looks so nice with higher than average prices, you'd expect something a bit more exciting.

Perhaps we should have gone during the day as the surroundings and views out to sea are great, and I'm sure if we'd have got some seafood for lunch it would have been different so we would try again. Maybe just a bad day...

We won't recommend this restaurant. It has good reviews and has beautiful interior. Unfortunately the food is not what we were expected. We have tried different restaurants in Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lansarote and this was the worst. We have ordered traditional goat meat. It was served without any salad, had very poor presentation. It looks like we have ordered a plate of bones. Meal was very hard to eat and stuck in the teeth. Starter meal didn't empress us too. When we tried to speak to the staff they were not very friendly. They took payment and left very quick to avoid any discussion about the food. The food didn't worth that amount of money. Also they had drinks in bottles and we couldn't order glass of wine separately. They are not very interested in customers because there come lots of tourists and they won't back there again so restaurant is not interested to improve their menu and sort...

Our party had 4 ppl and the food and drinks brought a bill of £117.5, which I don’t think it was bad at all. The food was brilliant with not a massive waiting time. We went for 4 starters and a paella 🥘 for 2, which was plenty for everyone. The grilled squid 🦑 was very nicely cooked and seasoned. Canary 🇮🇨 potatoes 🥔 and mojo sauce, you can never go wrong with, grilled prawns 🍤 were very nice and garlicky but the fried ones did not impressed me at all, probs the oil was too old as they had a bit of a strange taste. Paella 🥘 was really good and nicely cooked. Very fruity and fresh sangria with a good price. Like all Spanish restaurants at the end we had some local spirits shots on the house. Will defo go there again if we get the chance to come on the island in the future.
