After eating here a few times I can whole heartedly recommend this place for good old fashioned home cooked food. The first time we dined here, my wifey tried the tapas, it's mainly an English food place. She liked what she ordered, however it was more English inspiration tapas food. Not bad. How wifey was very impressed with the sangria, her new favourite tipple in the sun and shade. I had the burger, and was not disappointed. one if the best I had in Fureventure and would recommend. As we ate, we saw the sign for Sunday lunch and had to give it a go. So the following Sunday we were not disappointed. There seems to be some arguments over the best place to get Sunday lunch here. I haven't tried every where. But for me the bar has been set here. The veg was great, cooked well with a bite. The meat and gravy were delicious, the Wifey had pork with crackling and I had the lamb. Wifey said it was lovely, the crackling just the right about of crispy and chewy. The lamb tender and tasty, but the crown you can see in the photos is the Yorkshire pudding. Very few places do this proper, and the Yorkshire pudding was indeed proper. Honestly this is the piece of the a Sunday lunch that gets judged the most. And we were both impressed. The puree, carrot I think, was also tasty. Deserts really finished the meal off. But really at this stage we were stuffed...
Read moreWe were tempted by the positive reviews and walked a few hundred meters further from the hotel to see if the place was really worth all the hype. And it really was! The restaurant is a hidden diamond of Fuerteventura, a charming combination of the atmosphere of a small British pub and a quiet island restaurant. Although we had no reservations, within 10 seconds a large table had been set up in front of us to accommodate the entire large party of 7, including three children, who were immediately catered for with juice of choice and delicious chicken nuggets. We adults thoroughly enjoyed the Best Burger (my only regret is that I didn't order it in medium, but it was still delicious) and the traditional Fish & Chips, which for perhaps the second time in my life (the first time was at Hastings) was not dried out but beautifully juicy, accompanied by a crispy beer batter. For dessert I had a Black Forest cake with a delicious combination of marmalade, gingerbread spice and whipped cream. They also have beer from a local brewery, exactly as advertised, which we rate positively despite coming from the Czech Republic where there is no shortage of beer. Next time I visit Fuerteventura, I will head straight here and recommend the same to anyone who is here now or is just planning a holiday on the island. Thank you very much...
Read moreWe recently stayed in a hotel close by (5-15 of August) we found this resturant a few days into our holiday and what a find it was! We booked and went for an evening meal, 3 adults & 2 children and all the meals were amazing. It was also our sons 8th birthday while we were there so asked if we could book for breakfast on his birthday and if they would mind if we brought a cake. They said not a problem and would even provide candles for us as we were struggling to find some. When we arrived they had set up a table with a banner, table decorations and balloons for him. What a lovely touch! Made our sons birthday feel more special. We enjoyed it so much we went back for another breakfast a few days later!
Thank you to all the wonderful staff and chefs. Amazing place. A must visit while you...
