I guess 4,6 on the TripAdvisor scale could be interpreted as 4 guests out of 50 were unsatisfied. (And that is really, really bad if so) But actually it's a lot worse. El Burgado, supposed to be a restaurant with meat as a "speciality" had the worst filet of beef that I have seen in years. Yes, I could not say had or ate because I didn't. 8 pm. is when people go to have their dinner in Los Christianos, so we went there 7 pm to be sure to find a table. We ordered Gazpacho for starter and of course there are many recipees for that but I never saw pink Gazpacho. Eatable, but I could not help thinking what made it pink. Could it be milk or cream??? Well, the filet of beef was dry though ordered rare. Dry meat from what? How? We ordered a local red wine and now we've learned that the local red wine within a certain pricerange is quite good. Ambience... sort of imitated Canarian. Service was quite good until guests started coming in and got seated. Obviously it was more important to get their orders than to deliver. So we had to wait rather a long time until "our" waiter attended to us and cleared the table from the starter. Having a starter and a main course later Ice-cream (with ice flakes in it i. e. old refrozen) and a coffee, with not attentive service made us sit there almost 3 hours. Incredible. We came first and once paid we were almost the last ones to leave. The entertainment was embarrassing. The "artists" use computers nowdays, karaoke-style. This guy had a guitar which he more or less didn't play at all but hanging over his shoulder. Singing to a full orchestra in the computer. Silly! He also offered to play requests so I asked for Bob Dylan, you know the guy who won the Nobel-Prize in litterature but NO! So later I asked for any song by Cat Stevens, and another NO, I'm sorry. I didn't ask again since he was humiliated right there and enough is enough. Looking around the restaurant during the wait I saw and heard quite a few guests not being not too happy with their food. At last we had our check and the waitress apologized and that was the best experience all evening. Tourist-Trap....
Read moreWhen walking through Los Cristianos in the day we stumbled upon this restaurant. We checked google for reviews and there were an abundance of positive reviews which helped us make a decision.
We did book because it was a bank holiday but there were plenty of walk ins when we were eating.
Service: The restaurant gets very busy and the staff still managed to keep up with the service. I was impressed with the staff ensuring that street vendors were kept away while we eat our meal.
Food: Amazing quality of food, everything was hot and cooked very well, we ordered starters, mains ranging from garlic prawn, octopus, steaks and paella.
Drinks: The sangria was very good, wine list had a wide range of local and international wines.
Price: Everything was very reasonably priced and to be fair, we actually did pay for what we received.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant, whether it’s a meal for two, large booking or a small family. They handled everything on the night extremely well.
We had an absolute blast and wouldn’t hesitate returning when on...
Read moreWe decided to try this as the reviews were very good and chose it over Dona Clara. We thought it was actually an authentic Spanish restaurant, we were wrong. We ordered the octopus for starter it was nice, then we ordered we what we was listed as Canarian Rabbit so we naturally thought it would be Rabbit in salmorejo sauce however it was Rabbit with a Bisto like gravy, wish they had just been honest such a shame as we are it all as the rabbit itself was very plentiful good quality and cooked nicely, however it seemed that the chef just couldn't be bothered to make a sauce 😔 the staff seemed nice but not paying full attention we didn't get the bread we asked for and for sparking water instead of still (was taken off bill) service was generally lacking. During the meal I was asked by a waiter what I thought I told him okay and made a mediocre gesture with my hands, I would have told him more about the sauce however he...
