Awful experience. The starter of Bruschetta was gorgeous, as was the bottle of red wine of Montepulciano. But our main courses were terrible. My wife had Lasagne, very bland and barely warm. My dish was Tagliatelle with prawns, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes. I asked for the prawns to be de-shelled, de-headed and the waiter promised this would be sorted. Obviously, when the meal arrived, this hadn't been done. The meal returned to the kitchen and when this came back to the table there was one tiny prawn on top of the Tagliatelle. I mentioned to the waiter, why only one prawn, but he wasn't interested. As I attempted to dine, I found several bits of shell and tentacles in the dish. But then I crunched on a piece of mussel shell. Everyone of the few mouthfuls I did eat, were also extremely gritty. This only proves they use the same pan for most, if not all pasta/fish/mussel dishes. Both my wife and I left almost all of our food. When I complained, the waiter just apologised and walked away, after agreeing the piece of shell was from a mussel. Then my bill was brought to the table without my asking. I was charged the full amount, at which I would have refused, but my wife, didn't want me to make a fuss. So I paid and we left. During our experience several other tables were also returning food to the kitchen. Maybe this could be a one off, but we will...
Read moreWent there for a romantic date with my wife. As we were walking around looking for a restaurant for our date we wldecided to choose La Piazzetta del Mar due to the nice decor implementing vivid marine colours.
The restaurant was pretty much full however the waiter had a free table which was just outside the canopy. Probably that was the biggest issue that night as the table was near an open window leading into a room full of rubbish. Not the most pleasant view however it was to our side so it was the case that we kept seeing the mess inside the room.
For our starters we chose tartar de solomillo and provola caramellata. Both starters were tasty however personally I believe that the tartar was lacking flavours and a bit plain at the times.
For our mains we chose one of the pizzas and beef strips. Pizza was absolutely fantastic. Beef was spot on.
For a dessert we chose panna cotta frutas rojo and it was 5*.
We had a bit of an issue with our waiter as we wanted to order drinks and starters first and then the main course however he was not happy to take our order in parts and insisted to order everything at once which I was not...
Read moreWent here for a meal on our last night before going home the next day, let's just say it started not great and got worse.. I had finished my meal which was nice before the children's meal lasagne turned up and wasnt great, they apologised for the delay so fair enough. Bill came at the end €58.4, I placed down 2 x €50 notes and waited for my change. To my shock only €1 something came back. I 100% put down 2 x 50s as that is all I had left in my wallet as it was our last night and remember placing them down. The restaurent said no I put down 1 x 50 and 1 x 10. If I had placed down 60 euro I would not have waited for the change and would have left the remainder as a tip! My wife left her phone number with them so they could call us when they had cashed up at the end which would have shown we had overpaid. No phone call in the last 5 days, maybe I should have called the police and would advise you all to be careful in future when paying. I understand mistakes do happen but they have gone about it all the wrong way and not made any effort to pay us...
