Royal Garden Restaurant & Sport Bar — Restaurant in Arona

!FOOD POISONING & A&E! AVOID AVOID AVOID! I am leaving this review after being violently ill 4 times, hot sweats, chills and serious fatigue. My partner has found herself running to the toilet and out friends mother has also been very ill all night long with food poisoning!

The staff missed some of our drinks and didn't get them till the mains, we never got the water for the table we asked for and the Carbonara was left (thankfully🙏) due to it being so basic and bland.

I had the prosciutto ham on bread with tomatoes and lasagne which was plesnt at the time but not when seeing it again 4 times hours later!

Partner had the prosciutto ham on bread with tomato, Carbonara and our friends mother had margarita pizza and tomatoe soup. All in all a very mixed range of items which makes me question how they got it so wrong and made us so ill!

Was Served by a quiet abrupt waiter for our food, trying to get anyones attention was like a comedy scene out of a movie as no one seemed to "scan the room" regularly.

The outside tent/room was lovely with a jungle vibe and a quite soft Singer to add to the ambience.

I have worked and trained in hospitality for almost 20 years and Im a leader for a large food service team in a large university which I oversee audits, food safety documents and maintaining quality of equipment, general Standerds, customer service and general day to day improvements. I will be looking to see if I can have them visited by an food Standerds agency as I feel they may have lacking knowledge/standards in basics of food safety.

UPDATE: the day after me and my partner went to speak to the "manager" who was incredibly arigant, heartless and very unprofessional, tried to pass the blame, didn't take any details of the situation and didn't offer any form of an apology or refund / compensation, no wonder his staff are the way they are whith a "manager" like him.

2 days later I am at A&E in Spain with my partner after not being able to leave the toilet for 4hrs, the rest of the friends we have been out with have fallen ill also... So that's 6 people, can not stress enough AVOID AVOID AVOID! The place needs shutting down with standards that low in customer...

Whatever you do, stay away. !!!

the waiter came up to us while we were walking and we thought the sunset is so beautiful we should eat here to look at it. and Boy was that a big mistake the waiter just didn’t want to listen and he was just talking while we were saying what we would like to have and the owner was on the street harassing girls and making everybody feel uncomfortable. I ordered the lasagna and straight away while i eating it. I felt something was wrong with it but I’m a guy that eats pretty much anything so I just continued eating when I could see the plate. I realise there was a big hole in the plate, I had been eating the part of the plate. I asked the waiter to come he didn’t listen then I saw the owner and I asked him to take a look and I said the plate is broken and I have been eating a part of the plate he looked at me and got really angry and said that this is no excuse and I should not be scratching the plate and this is just my fault then my woman tried to talk to him and he was just shouting at her then I got really angry and start shouting at him I asked him if he was really this stupid and I said I’m willing to pay for what we ate and drink he said no and that I have to pay for everything and he started calling the police and saying something in Spanish that I didn’t understand so me and my Mrs didn’t want to take the chance and we paid stood up and I said you’re gonna get a...

Worst.service.ever! If the owner of this restaurant cares about their business they will review their staff as I have never experienced such bad mannered service in a restaurant. It was actually unbelievable! First, we were told we could have a seat with a view in 5 minutes we just needed to order a drink inside first. This was a lie and we were left to sit inside all evening. One waiter in particular had an unimaginable staring problem and continued to stare atus for the duration of the evening to the point I had to ask was he okay serveral times. We were then asked 4 times within 5 minutes if we were finished when we were still eating our food. They then massively short changed us and when we pointed it out and asked for our change politely, 3 waiters continued to stare and whisper around us and repeatedly asked us what the issue was.. which we had already clearly and politely explained several times!! Eventually they gave us back our correct change without any apology. When we eventually proceeded to leave I had barely stood up from my chair before the waiter dived on front of the table to check for a tip without a thank you or goodbye. We felt tricked into eating there by being told we will seat you with a view in two minutes and then ironically pushed out. Plenty of better restaurants to choose from. The staring problem of two waiters is honestly something you have to see to believe....
