The Anchor Bar — Restaurant in Arona

AVOID THIS PLACE! AVOID THIS PLACE! AVOID THIS PLACE!

The bar staff are intent on ripping customers off. A group of 12 decided to watch the football in there. So, we decided to go and queue at the bar in twos. The first pair asked how much a bottle of Dorada was ,(normally €2-3) and was told its €4. They declined, then they were immediately told it was €3. This same thing happened to the rest of the group try asking how much Dorada is, each were told €4. I find it hard to believe the members of staff could forget how much a bottle was.

In addition, a group of lads bought 6 bottles of Dorada at €3 and the waiter insisted the price was €19! We I went to school 6x3 was 18! He also blamed the card machine!

Either the staff are on the take or the management and staff are in on this deception.

It's such as shame as the surrounding are great and it's very clean.

Just left the Anchor bar. Went in for a pint of Guiness. Was served by a lady from Tenerife. Paid with a 10 euro note. Asked the Tenerife bar woman to take my photo whilst I was holding my pint. She took my photo and I sat down to enjoy my pint. 15 mins later I realised she hadn't given me any change. I waited for another 5 mins , still no change.... Went to the bar counter to see if my change was left on top of the counter. No change on the counter. Finished my drink quickly and left I will never return. So why didn't I ask the Tenerife bar woman for my change - maybe it was a mistake ?? My belief is if I explained after 15 mins I hadn't been given change from my 10 euro note I may have been faced with a " you did get your change " situation?? I will never know... Bought two cocktails one being a Mojito which was good and the other a Pina colada for my wife. The Pina Colada had an awful foul after taste as if it was off. We both tried it and knew it wasn't right. I Took the drink to the bar to try and exchange for another drink. The bar lady took the drink behind the bar to another lady which they both said it was fine and nothing could be done. The customer is always right...clearly doesn't count...
