Our first of two experiences was much better hence the 3 stars, otherwise it would have been a 2 in all honesty. Equally, if the 2nd experience hadn’t been so bad, the first one may have been a 4.

We were staying at the hotel so visited this restaurant on the first night as we arrived in the evening and it didn’t require reservations. The lady that greeted us was very friendly, organised and professional. Whilst there was a short wait, the communication was great and the attentiveness from her and her staff was positive so we didn’t mind the wait at all. We were then shown to a table with a great view and enjoyed some nice food and drinks.

The 2nd visit was different staff and the complete opposite experience. It was Valentines Day so we completely expected and understood possible wait times for a table but we were just ignored whilst queuing at the door multiple times. Some people behind us just decided to leave and not wait, I wish we did the same. We didn’t have the same warm, attentive experience from the staff at all. Over an hour wait then for the food and absolutely no updates or communication throughout, my drink was wrong so I had to go up to ask for it to be changed because no one attended our table to check on us whilst waiting. The food was then just ok but by that time and with the poor service we experienced, we had lost our appetites. Won’t be visiting again,...

After a very long walk from Puerta Del Carmen on the coastal path we decided to have a look at the 17 floor hotel in Arrecife as we had been looking at this building for miles as we walked, and knew there was a cafe bar restaurant on the top floor. We enteted the building at the hotel and spa main entrance and were greeted by a sign informing of the restaurant on the 17th floor but to be warned that is was not open to the public unless you were buying food and/or drink. Fair enough we thought. On arriving at the 17th floor we waited to be seated and were not disappointed with our table overlooking the beach at Arrecife from 17 floors up. We were given a menu in Spanish and thought fair enough and set about attempting to translate it using our tourist Spaglish and opted for the burger and chips at 16 euros which was priced as expected for the venue, drinks were quite fairly priced we noted. (we found out later English menus are also available🙄) The food arrived quickly, we noted portions were large and food was tasty. The burgers are offered in varying states of rareness but as a believer in my nvq training in food safety, I opted for well done as mince meat should not be served with any blood showing in my and a few million others opinions. All tasted great and we had no complaints, expensive lunch, though as expected and we certainly did not...

We’d been to see César Manrique’s house hearty and wanted somewhere decent to eat. This place had reasonable reviews plus a decent view so we decided to visit. Took a while to find it as no obvious signage outside. Had to ask several people before we worked out which lift to take. Arrived on the 17th floor, the entrance to the restaurant. Waited an age to be seated. Lots of staff seeing us but no acknowledgment. It was only when my wife walked towards the window to appreciate the view did a member of staff run towards her, screaming that she can’t just walk in. Eventually got seated. No menus so we went online to see what was on offer. After 10 minutes, we had one food menu and one drinks menu thrown at us, with no comment. After another 15 mins, had to grab a member of staff so we could order. That is despite being ignored by other staff (one of which was making rude gestures and swearing under her breath). The person who came in after us was served before us and got their order before as well. Interestingly enough, the food was very good. I had salmon poke and my wife had goats cheese and fruit salad. Noted the previous reviews remain consistent from others about rude and poor service, long waiting, abrupt staff. Shame as this restaurant has a great location and decent food but considerably let down by incompetent and...

Lovely atmosphere and views! Do be aware that the ‘beyond burger with vegannaise’ is not actually vegan friendly. I noticed it had the allergen sign for milk and asked our server, he said that the burger bun contains milk which is disappointing. The same with the ‘chickpea hummus’ which you’d presume would be vegan also had the milk allergen and he told me it was because it contained cream. Instead he offered he could make the ‘Salmon poke bowl’ vegan by removing the salmon, he offered another option he could make vegan but recommended I go with the Poke bowl. And said the fries would also be vegan. So I got fries to share with my partner and his suggestion of the poke bowl. I was tasty and felt very fresh and healthy and I was happy with this meal. It was a lovely restaurant overlooking the beach and had a nice fancy vibe but it was disappointing that the beyond burger wasn’t vegan, you’d think as they were sourcing vegan mayo they would also source vegan buns. Do note there may be long waits for a table, we did have to wait about half and hour for a table. Our server was lovely, but service overall was slow.
