Restaurante Taiwan — Restaurant in Arrecife

This was our second time coming here, great lively restaurant. The service was friendly and comfortable. The menu is authentic, reasonable priced. The decoration is sophisticated with table cloth and retro glass top. Remind us the good old days. The food taste and portion are decent and delicious. The house wine is also good. The only disappointment is the limited variety of sea food, like most other restaurants on the island, considering it should be abundance of sea food from the sea. I'll cut the guys some slack because I hadn't booked and it was New Year's BUT they did agree to serve me and nothing magical happened from that point onwards. The "Gambas con salsa piccante" were not in any way spicy. They were oversalted, if anything. A LOT of prawns in fairness but they didn't have much flavour. The vegetables were completely raw. The "arroz especial negro" had more prawns in it but otherwise it was bland. Poor value for 8 Euros. I found the atmosphere awful, but it was an unusual night....

Passable spring rolls very basic but ok obviously from frozen, main course I had chicken an almonds that can only be described as awful, a flavour I've never tasted before or want to again, the miniscule slivers of "chicken" tasted odd... Did not come with rice so ordered prawn fried rice ... Not good not tasty bland boiled rice with few peas n prawns thrown in portions are not generous as stated in fact very small compared to english chinese portions. Not good...
