La Puntilla — Restaurant in Arrecife

This place is very nice if you are looking for fancy food, tasty wine and a lengthy dinner (3 courses). We were looking for a quick meal, and this was the only restaurant which had some tables free. Although the food was amazing, the service was the opposite. First, we had to wait 10 minutes before we could order drinks/get a menu, then 5 more minutes before we could order food after ordering drinks (is this a custom at fancy restaurants?). We read a review in the guardian newspaper and thought we'd try it out. So glad that we did. The food was fresh and tasty. Service was great. Would definitely recommend this place. Had 12 croquetas de pescado to share for starters. This was the best croquetas that I've had in my life so far! Followed by fish with vegetables. Very tasty but I'd eaten too much for starters and couldn't finish it. The vegetables were really tasty and carried the flavours of the meal. You definitely need to book in advance. My husband saw the review of this restaurant in the Guardian and we looked forward to dining there. Had our hotel advance book a table for us as we dont speak spanish. Arrived 10 mins early so waited outside. The waiter came outside and without speaking put a rope across the entrance way to indicate we were not welcome yet! He then told us he thought we were coming the previous evening.. it was all a bit awkward, i was ready to leave but my husband persuaded me not to.
