Located in small alley, La Luna was a great experience to set the lower threshold of Lanzarote hospitality and food expectation. Probably one of those of those days where you asked yourself why you went to work, the service staff was not even close to being efficient. Had many encounters with overcrowded restaurant in Lanzarote with similar staffing restaurant, and this one restaurant La Luna was the worst. Not only it takes 15 minutes to be considered (seen yes), it takes another 15 to have the menu (only food. Didn't dare to wait for another 15 for the drinks- beware that sparkling or still water is also found in the supermarket nearby). Food wise the picos (snacks) were the highlights: the ensaladilla rusa with the cod fish croquettes was ok -would have expected homemade croquette and a something less blend for the ensaladilla. The rabbit was grilled on the outside and not even cooked inside: for sure I could try the gamey taste. On top of a mediocre if not non-existing service, the food/service is overpriced. My take: do not expect typical food from Lanzarote. More like dishes with appealing names where only tourists got to meet. Plenty of other options around. (This mark might be seen as a statistical outlier but I stand still: you can find better service and food, and enjoy a...
Read moreA nice rustic little place hidden down a back street, many local people here which is usually a good sign, has an outside terrace but only has a view of surrounding cars and walls. All tables filled up quickly so maybe reserve in advance to be sure (open for lunch until 3pm and then dinner from 7pm) Staff gave an efficient service and everything arrived promptly. An authentic varied menu with many tempting choices but don't over order as portions are a good size. The Pulpo a la plancha (grilled baby octopus) was among the best I've ever had, cooked perfectly - tasty, juicy and tender as it should be with salad, mojo potatoes and marinated tuna, perfect! 🐙
Everything seemed reasonably priced, the only real negative for me is that the red wine is served chilled 🥶 but maybe this is how the locals like it?
Have been here twice now and will defo be returning again until I've tried the whole...
Read moreBeware, the menu is illogical, you don’t know what might be just a tapas or main plate. My wife and I basically had two tapas( €26 and a very nice bottle of wine(€25) not from the island. We were told it came with potatoes but didn’t. Have been here before several times and enjoyed but this time no ,the word authentic used by others is not correct it’s an interesting interior! chairs very uncomfortable. Locals don’t eat there they sit outside smoking and have a beer. Please there are better places in the town. Will not be going again. I note the owner never replies to...
