4 Latas Letamendi — Restaurant in Barcelona

My husband and I stumbled across this place a few blocks from our hotel. There were a number of people eating outside, quite a few people inside, too. We were seated outside immediately. Our waiter, Santi, was very friendly and attentive. The menu had a lot of variety, but we were eating light so we split a tomato salad with barrata and pesto and pizza Iberica—ham and cheese. They were both delicious and plenty for 2 people. We were shocked with the final bill—very reasonable, especially compared to some of the other restaurants where we had eaten in Barcelona. We liked the place so much, we went back a second evening when we wanted to eat something a little light before returning to our hotel. Absolutely horrible! First of all earlier in the day we came to ask for a table outside for dinner and they took our reservation, when we arrived there was no table for us outside - we were made to sit inside.

Second the food was HORRIBLE. It was worse than a fast food diner. The nachos with avocado were literally one spoon of avocado and a plate of Doritos. The paella we ordered was watery and the seafood was smelling horrible, we asked the waiter about it and ge said it’s “how we ordered it”, like what? Who orders watery and rotten seafood paella?

Thirdly it was super overpriced for that quality of food considering that all the dishes tasted like they were made from yesterday’s scraps.

This is comfort food for drunk people only. The staff has the education level associated with the most basic basic fast good place, you explain something being wrong with the food, in correct spanish … you get a blank stare back. You ask if they have registered what you are saying and the response is merely that this is what it is. Flabbergasting that they have several locations, greasy drink comfort food and the most basic personnel I have experienced in a long time. You order quesadillas with pulled pork and also the quesadillas with chicken. You Point out to them that neither has any meat in it.. and it’s like gold fish looking...
