I may be a tourist, but I know tortilla de patata very well. I spent a summer studying abroad in Madrid and had tortilla española every day. I made friends with Madrileños, and one of their abuela taught me how to make it. Hers was beyond compare, but I have made it many times myself to rave reviews. I have eaten it at the amazing Casa Dani in Madrid. This is my first time in Barcelona, so maybe they have a different version, but the classic with onions was inedible to me. First of all, the onions tasted like they came out of a jar from a supermarket. The key to the flavor is to caramelize the onions in olive oil and then use that oil to cook the potatoes. This was clearly not done.

I enjoyed the bread with tomato/olive oil dressing. My partner liked the tortilla with jalapeños, bacon, and cheese and ate every bite. The server inquired why I didn’t eat mine. When I told her, I didn’t like the onion and it was not how I expected it to taste, she became indignant and said it was a classic tortilla. She didn’t offer to exchange it for anything else. She looked at me like I was wrong. Later that afternoon I was so sick, and it was the only thing I had eaten.

The area is amazing, so I recommend you go to the area and find a different restaurant. I had high hopes but was so...

Got the recommendation from a local in Barcelona and couldn’t be happier. It was my first time trying out Spanish Tortillas and it was great!

We ordered 2, the one with cheese and the one with anchovies and olives. Both were delicious, but the anchovies one was a tad bit too salty. Also ordered the tomato bread and it was a nice edition.

I wanted to take a moment to appreciate how friendly and nice the staff were at the restaurant. Firstly when we were asking for recommendations, they were quite open and giving us options and telling us what people usually like. Also made suggestions on how “well cooked” the tortillas should be. It was also quite heavy so I haven’t finished mine, and 2 different staff members came and double checked that I did indeed enjoy it or if there were any problems and even asked me if I wanted it wrapped to go (but it was a hot day, I assumed the eggs will go bad). They double checked yet again that I liked it and if I didn’t they were happy to adjust. But I genuinely was just full 🤗 TOP NOTCH customer service ❤️

Highly recommended. You can also see a lot of locals, which usually tells you everything you need to know...

I really wanted to try this place, but I was so disappointed by the service that I might never come back. My girlfriend and I didn't have a reservation, but about 30% of the tables were empty, so we tried to walk in.

The first waitress who spoke to us was very nice and said that we could wait outside the restaurant to see if a spot would become available, although it wasn't guaranteed because it depended on cancellations, but we decided to wait and see. However, about 5 minutes later, another waitress came and rudely told us to leave. She kept yelling "WE'RE FULLY BOOKED" in English (we're not Spanish but we speak basic Spanish, so there was no reason for her to scream in English) and embarrassed us in front of everyone else waiting outside. Everyone was looking at us in astonishment, and we had no choice but to leave the front of the restaurant feeling humiliated, even though we hadn't done...
