It’s unfortunate that I have to leave a negative review, as I normally avoid doing so, but this experience deserves to be shared.
We were a group of 9 friends enjoying a lovely evening on the terrace—the waiters were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, everything changed when it came time to pay.
We asked to split the bill, only to be told it wasn’t possible due to “too many fees”—a rule we were informed of only at the end of the meal. This policy isn’t stated on the menu or communicated upfront, which is unacceptable for a place with relatively high prices (and an extra charge for sitting on the terrace).
When we tried to explain that managing payments among 9 people would be difficult, the person processing the payment was rude and unhelpful—and even threatened to call the police, which was completely out of line, especially since we weren’t refusing to pay, we just wanted to pay individually.
In the end, I had to step in and pay the entire bill myself, then spend extra time sorting out the payments with everyone else which took a lot of effort and it was a headache. This is not how anyone wants to end an otherwise pleasant evening.
The restaurant could easily avoid this kind of situation: either allow bill-splitting (as most places do) or clearly state the policy in advance. And, at the very least, treat customers politely.
I won’t be returning and can’t recommend this place for groups of friends unless they adopt a more flexible policy and a friendlier attitude.
That said, I do want to thank the terrace staff for their kindness throughout the evening—they did...
Read moreBeen going here on occasionally for 3 years so food and service are ok. Went there last night and they now don't allow people to split the bill. This means I had to pay €117.40 for a salad and a chocolate brownie. I asked the waiter if it was because it costs them to process transactions and he said no. He said you can't split the bill anymore because the managers are too lazy to process that many card transactions, which comes as no surprise. I have no idea what kind of manual processing they need to do for electronic payments but surely it's less than cash payments. Or maybe they just want to encourage cash payments to make as much income off the books for dodgy reasons. Anyway, not sure. If you're going here, just make sure you go by yourself so you don't have the chase money from your friends when you leave. We really are living 20 years in the past...
Read moreDONT GO ! This place is not worth considering ! Waiters don't care about foreigners. They dont make the effort to help. The PRICES are ABOVE STANDARD and FOOD is HORRIBLE. We ordered among other stuff a cheese board; the cheeses were sweaty like they'd been outside the fridge for a good half hour in the sun. We also asked for bread which never came, BUT got charged on the bill, and waiter clearly seemed annoyed we asked to remove it as we didn't get it. Cherry on the cake, we got unfortunate that homeless people were sitting on the bench close to us, and they were stinky, disgusting and were giving food to pigeon which lead to a very uncomfortable place to be. Also, Spanish guys were spitting at the next...
