Azoka taberna — Restaurant in Barcelona

Spend beautifull memories with my mother and our friend there, even if it was only one night. We started with great wine outside, April 2023 around 7pm only to end up drinking that BEAUTIFUL spanish wine inside when it got chillier and when the night came. We had a separe (separated table) in a cozy corner :). We added to the wine some great empanadas with sea food if I can remember and with meat and cheese and... It was all delicious and this is one bar near parque Montjuic,famous park in Barcelona,but also in an area which is very local and outside of the crowd in Las Ramblas but VERY close to the center ! Very disappointing experience. We ordered broken eggs with mushrooms (huevos rotos con setas) but received just potatoes topped with fried egg and zero mushroom, not even one. That was confusing. We also ordered grilled shrimps but they were served quite tiny and completely not cleaned and not prepared to be eaten. Leaving the head is acceptable, but serving completely uncleaned shrimp 🦐 with all legs and everything it’s something that should be at least mentioned in the menu, as it’s a very uncommon preference. One of the lovely surprises of our trip to Barcelona. Unassuming and tucked away at the top end of the Gothic Quarter, you will find freshly prepared tapas that are full of flavour. There is something special about this place that is difficult to put into words. The experience is like eating food prepared by a friend (who is also an amazing chef)
