Bar Mediterráneo — Restaurant in Barcelona

A venue in Eixample that makes El Raval seem superb... 1 star is too generous.

After our first 12 months in Barcelona, tonight we visited this dump on the recommendation of a waiter at a restaurant.

We've been collating a list of good bars with live music and keen to discover a new place... this dive takes the prize for lowest quality in food, drinks, value, music, and worst of all apathetic greedy shyster management and staff of any of the 100+ places we've visited in Barcelona this last year.

To say the drinks prices are a bit overpriced is an understatement. They serve the cheapest vomit enducing box wine and hang over no brand beer at prices you would only expect to pay in overpriced boutique hotels. But at least in those hotels you would get quality for the price paid... guaranted not here.

The music was nauseating and cringeworthy. The main act with his guitar sounded like a squeeling talentless teen banging away at a tea chest and strangling his tone less voice.

The Men's toilets had no loo paper, no soap, no hand towels, and no working hand dryer! Filthy overall..

We couldn't finish our drinks and were upset by the shyster price we had to pay. The aggressive apathetic bar staff were just salt to the festering wound this dive really is.

Problems… we were 11 people , first they divided us, we couldn’t stay in the same table.. prices.. super high.. 13 euros for a glass of gin.. impossible to move in the bar.. you got to stay at your very own table.. we got split and with no chance to see each other for an hour.. we just downed our drinks and moved to another place.. guys, don’t go there if you want to share a moment with a big group.. very irresponsible staff .. if you read me staff, honestly , try to improve the way to welcome customers.. no hard feelings..good luck...

We had an overall disappointing time here. The musician playing when we arrived was OK, but the next guy was terrible. He would not even get a gig as a busker in most cities. The drinks are overpriced, with the cheapest quality beer and wine served. The toilets are in poor repair, the men's had no toilet paper, soap or hand dryer, just downright disgusting. Overall the decor is drab and in need of attention. It is a money hungry place, with no real clientele focus. I would not return here, nor...
