Bodega Iturre — Restaurant in Barcelona

This is a late review, but my experience here was so amazing, better late than never! We stumbled across Bodega Iturre on our last day in Barca and only regret not having found this place earlier! The owner was the loveliest man and super welcoming. He served us never ending plates of delicious tapas - pork crackling, fried peppers, cheese and morcilla. My biggest highlight was the delicious vermut he had available, it was so good I had to take a bottle home to Australia. He kept the drinks flowing and was such a great host. We stopped by after visiting the Sagrada Familia. The place is not modern nor is it trendy or fancy--- and I don't mean that in a bad way.

This place is a real gem, unpolished and pure in its intent. The owner, Juanjo is a rolling stone, a salt of the earth guy, who brings such energy into the place.

We were lucky to stumble across this spot and is not a moment we are likely to forget.

The tapas are flavorful and rich-- we had the olives, cheese and three types of croquettes.

Super popular bar by locals. Has a massive amount of tapas and to be honest probably one of the most expansive that isn't chain like in it's approach. There's massive wine from super huge kegs for all tastes from reds, rose to whites. I recommend their fried artichoke and aubergines - hands down very well done.
