We noticed this restaurant on our way to visit Sagrada Familia. We backtracked after a looong day and evening of touring. We were greeted warmly even though we arrived somewhat bedraggled in our days touring attire. We started with a refreshing gazpacho, then an Asturian bean dish flavored with various sausages, and grilled scallops, all specials that day. I had a glass of a local white wine. Each offering exceeded our expectations. I cannot pick a favorite among them. These dishes, and the fine service, merit the five-star review. But there’s more! We enjoyed the art and general atmosphere, and really got a kick out of the family photos and restaurant history displayed inside. Read moreOne of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona. Yaya is the perfect escape from the touristy hustle and bustle that dominates the area near Sagrada Familia. It's old school, no frills and the ambience and staff takes you back in time to another, simpler Barcelona.

The food is absolutely delicious, with a great variety of options on the menu. The quality-to-price ratio is fantastic — well worth it.
