Such a messy experience.

The food was good, but the service was awful. We came around 22:45, and of course we called before to make sure they are still serving food. We ordered before 23:00 since the kitchen was closing at that time.

When sitting, they told us that we have to leave by 23:30 which makes no sense if you see the closing hours in maps and in their website. Then we started ordering and the waitress was rude to us with no reason. At some point we wanted to order some drinks around 23:15. And the waiteress with the manager refused because the « kitchen is closed ». Knowing that they just served some wine to other clients and that the bar was still open.

Feeling uncomfortable the whole time, we decided before leaving to talk to the manager, who refused to talk to us and sent another employee that was very sorry but only by herself. After that we went to pay of course in a very unpleasant atmosphere.

I was really disappointed because I am sure if the owner of the place was here, he wozkd never accept such a disrespectful behavior coming from his employees.

I don’t recommend you to go here. There are other tapas restaurants with...

A little bit disappointing in the order I had…. The sweet and sour cucumber turned out to be a pickled gerkin straight out of the bottle…. The staff pulled it out on a fork and then with her hands she held it up weighed it picked it up (she’d been working the front counter in food prep and never washed her hands between any tasks…) so as my gerkin was held up to someone on the mezzanine level to discuss what to do I felt like cancelling the order … anyway the only thing done to it was a fancy slice up and a parsley leaf garnish….. the “chips” were Ok to taste but barely hot and the two garnishes were almost the same the red version had sweet smoked paprika as the only difference…. No hot taste as promised….. the beef cheeks were great well cooked good taste and hot …. I put the chips in them to warm them up and salvaged my lunch….. the white wine was from a two thirds empty bottle(I was the first there so it was over 18hrs open and oxidised)…. Meanwhile three of the staff spent looking over mobile posts…. Perhaps ok as there was definitely no crowd, line up or full tables…. In the end the bill was €29.15….. for a...

The worst service from the manager I had ever experienced. Went in the winery, I can tell they were very busy. I was waited after two ladies in front of the bar, when the staff informed me I had to spoke to manager. There was more customers came in but they were all waited to be seated in front of the bar, just like I did. The manager seemed busy, so I was nice and politely waiting, until she kept skipping me but seated the customers who came after me. When I approached to other staff who noticed me, she helped me speak to the manager and explained I had been waiting here for 20 mins and still not getting a table. She said she couldn’t give me a table when I just got here. She was aggressively shouted at me “Who?!” when I told her the customers who had been seated but came after me. Afterwards she pointed a table to me and said “there” and left the menu on the table without saying anything. Eventually, I left without ordering anything. I wasn’t being rude while waiting. But this service is too much to take. Hopefully I’m the only customer who was treated like this. No one needs to...

We came around opening time at 12noon and the staff kindly told us to give them more time to set up, which was okay. We were let in around 12:15pm. Staff spoke English so there was no difficulty in ordering. Staff was also very friendly. We loved the ambience it felt like an old wine cellar. People started coming in a little before 1pm after we had already ordered. There’s nothing bad about the food but there was nothing extra special about it as well. We were 3 people and we ordered 4 dishes - the bravas, calamar ala plancha, mussels in white wine sauce and the beef filet. The bravas were good - very crispy outside and soft inside. The sauces that came with it (a garlic mayo and a spicy one) made it even better. The calamar was also good, it came charred and paired well with the sauce. Mussels were okay and had good sauce. The least liked dish was the beef filet because it was kind of tough and the serving was so small for the price. That one we could’ve done without. Overall I think this is an ok place, but don’t expect the food to be exceptionally different. Ambience and staff were great.

We loved our experience here. We had the patatas bravas and the cannelloni along with a glass of red wine and the local Barcelona beer, Moritz. Everything was delicious. The ambiance is that old world charm that the Gothic Quarter is known for and the place has over 75 years of history as a bodega. The most impressive thing was that when we first arrived they were completely full (it was a Saturday night) and they told us to come back in half an hour. A little closer to an hour later we returned and they were still full but as we were walking away one of the servers came running after us to let us know a table for two had just opened up! It was so kind of them and throughout the night their service continued to be great. We were there around 10pm and even after that more people came and went, so it was steadily packed. Book in advance if you can. When we return to Barcelona we will definitely stop in again.
