Brasas El Pera — Restaurant in Barcelona

It's a local restaurant for locals and is very authentic with a lot of potential. The service was good, the food arrived quickly and we felt looked after. The value for the menu is good as well. However, the general reviews do not reflect the quality of the food so much that I have to write it here. The food tasted awful. The soup was tasteless, the pasta was overcooked to the point of falling apart, and everything (especially the salad) carried a strong smell of an old refrigerator. The only thing that was OK was the deep fried fish - probably because it was fresh while everything else was not.

I didn't expect anything outstanding - just a regular lunch, but it left me disappointed after all the other gleaming...

Brasas El Pero, what a lovely place! Very close to Sants train station so if you arrive hungry, do go! The have Todays Menus (Menu del dia, you select between many dishes for starter and mains, a drink of choice, bread and either coffee or dessert) for 12,50 euro for a three course meal.(which is nearly incredible in Barcelona!)
