I have been here in Barcelona for about 3 weeks now. That’s a long time without dim sum. Found this place today after some research.
The place was easy to find and was super clean inside. At around 1PM, we did not have any problems getting a table but there were 4 other tables occupied.
The waitress was super nice and spoke English very well. We ordered some vegetarian dishes (spouse is vegetarian) and a lot of dim sum for me.
Vegetarian: The veggie wontons noodle soup was okay. The broth was typical and on the blander side. The noodles were cooked well. The standout was the wontons. The veggie dumplings pan fried were also very good along with the spring rolls.
Dim sum: Har gow and the shumai were a little disappointing. They were small and lacked flavor, too much like frozen ones you can buy. The dumplings on the other hand were very good. Had the pan fried pork dumplings and the kimchi pork dumplings. I preferred the taste of the pork dumplings by itself over the kimchi. Both were juicy and flavorful, just my preference. The xiaolong boa had such a strong porky flavor that still came through even though the skin failed miserably. None of my dumplings came out intact. The skins were already broken on delivery to the table. I still enjoyed them. The flavors were there if only I could get the soup part, it would have been bomb. The last thing I ate were the chicken feet. They were great!! Fantastic flavor and not too soft, just enough chew.
Would I come back? Yes but I would never order the shumai or har gow again. They have some great menu día items that I really want to try…pig trotters. Two tables ordered them when I was there and they...
Read moreSo let’s say the picture they have on their google with the variety of different dim sum plates is a scam. They prolly took that picture off of another site or something. They did not offer half of what was on the picture menu. The shumai was not even authentic Chinese dim sum! The shu mai was like more out of a Trader Joe’s frozen dim sum at that, and that’s me being nice because the trader Joe frozen dim sum taste even better. They open at 12. We came in at 12:05. The owner was still cleaning and mop which I appreciate because the place was clean. The waitress lady was mean. She did not have an ounce of smile in her. We waited for like 15 mins after she got done cleaning to then come over to ask the other two tables what they wanted. Her daughter came over to us and took our order. My hubby and I wanted to order a couple of plates to see if it was good and good thing we did only order 3 because we were not impressed and we left after. I got the shumai and the braised chicken feet and my hubby got the dumplings. The dumplings were prolly the best. The braised chicken feet is not your...
Read moreWe ordered the Pork Trotters menu (braised pork trotters that comes with a bowl of rice, a plate of stir-fried cabbage and a cauldron of soup). The trotters were tender and flavourful, while the cabbage was so simple yet very delicious! The soup was filled with meat, mushrooms and goji berries, the depth of flavour complimented the rest of the dishes very well. We also ordered the Shrimp Stir-fried Hor Fun, which had very balanced flavours - you can smell the "Wok Hei" every time you take a bite! The We took a Har Gaw (Shrimp Steamed Dumplings) which came with soy sauce (I think) as the condiment. These were served in the dimsum steamer basket. We also ordered the salted egg custard baos - highly recommended if you love sweet and salty, rich and creamy desserts. Service was fairly quick , they also speak English - which is super convenient for tourists. Overall, we enjoyed all the dishes. We paid less than Eu40 for our lunch (for 2 pax) which is reasonable. Will certainly return when I need to satiate my Chinese/Cantonese...
