Carrefour Market — Local services in Barcelona

Large market located just outside one of our hotels during our recent stay in Barcelona. This market was larger larger many we had visited and it did offer a wide selection of items. We visited here rather frequently and picked up small items like juices, humus, jamon and cheeses and bottled water. We tried a few prepared items as well as some fruits and items from the bakery as well. The selection felt like more cheaper end items or brands and perhaps it was just us getting tired of the same selection but the variety of overall items felt weak and perhaps geared more toward the comon traveler and less for the everyday person. Which all makes sense given its location and likely consumer base after all.

That all said, the reason for the lower score was really the frustrating experience that was everyday during checkout. They had dozens of registers but the lines for all funneled into 2 side by side lanes that stretched from the front of the store nearly to the back, only to end where a long line started for the single register located at the rear of the store. These lines were a pain to be in and even more of a pain to get through or around while trying to shop. Is this cause enough to avoid this store, of course not, it was just worth noting I think.

This was probably the better grocery store we frequented while staying inside the city proper of Barcelona and would recommend it to anyone...

Bad securit guard. Paid my stuff and when i was walking for outside he stopped me and accused me for stealing without verifying anything. I said I paid . He did not listen to me then they detained me for few minutes, i was so embarrassed and ashamed and stressed . that how can the guard accused me of theft without any verification. He only stopped me because I was wearing scarf. At that time . Everyone was passing he did not stop them. Later I said can u please desk 2 where I paid my stuff then guard said okay you pay for rice but did not pay for 2 masks they were like 1 60 euro price. I said I paid all. I again said can u confirm from girl of desk 2. Meanwhile they detained me and insulted me that I had done robbery for just few euros like 9 euros something. I asked them again talk to desk 2 girl. The desk 2 girl said she had paid for masks and everything and then I was free. They are...

Excellent collection of local & international goods including some special imported food product. Healthy options can be found here. Very good for shopping of home needs and also u can have a great dinner with family n friends at AlBaik restaurant.

Carrefour Hypermarket- ok but not like in UAE unfortunately. Product proposed are excellent in term of choice if I compare with other places but it's unfortunately common in spain due certainly to distribution channel and sponsorship

superb customer service..not enough packing and cashier staff so you have to pack the good by yourself at checkout. But if you are a visitor, two packers will attend you. Cashiers behaves are good if the customer is taking the things for free..must send these people to Carrefour Dubai to learn the basics of customer service and speed up...
