During our 21 days pleasant journey in Spain, we visited several ancient cities, towns and beautiful beaches in the south. This was the only place where we felt unfriendly to tourists and be deceived! So we had to write down our experiences here and remind everyone to be careful! After visiting the amazing Holy Family Hall at that morning, we excitedly went to this nearby restaurant for lunch. As soon as arrived, we felt a little bit of unfriendly. Due to the scorching noon sun, we wanted to dine inside the restaurant, but the tallest male waiter blocked the entrance and tried to prevent us from entering. We were allowed to enter only after our strong requests. During our lunch, we observed he also wanted to prevent another group of tourists to dine inside the restaurant. (Afterwards, we thought he insisted to dine at the roadside table, so that could charge an additional service fee higher than dining inside the restaurant). When we ordered our meal, the waiter kept showing unpleasant. But things were changed, when we ordered two different types of paella after ordering other food. He asked if we wanted to increase the portion for each dish of paella. We habitually thought that just like other restaurants, it would only cost us a few euro more than the price of a single dish of paella. After we agreed without hesitation, he suddenly showed great joys. At that time, we were happy for his sudden transformation and thought we could have a pleasant meal then. However, we found that the two dish of paella were not delicious, and only had a little seafood besides more rice than normal. It was until the checkout that we understood why this waiter suddenly became very happy. Because their price for paella is 20 euro per dish, when we agree to increase the portion, the price was directly doubled. Will be charged as 2 dishes, becoming 40 euro per dish. On that lunch, we were charged 80 euro for the 2 dishes of paella alone, and the actual situation was only an increase of the portion of rice per dish! During the entire journey, we ordered paella more than ten times. This was the only time we have encountered! We hope our experience will remind everyone to pay attention to and not be...
Read moreFirst day in Barcelona, first restaurant and we are shocked with staff and service! We wanted to enjoy our lunch with nice view outside looking to Segrada Familia. We ordered drinks for kids and sangria for myself and husband. As our kids very “fussy” with food i got them kids meal from Mcdonalds and they were eating outside at our table. I was ready to order lunch for myself and husband. Instead of that, one of male staff came and rudely said kids can not eat this food at this table. I said i want to order food from their menu but he said kids can not eat here. We explained they do not eat any food from their menu and said we will order for them desert. To everything we said from him was only NO. We asked to call manager. He said kids can not stay. Then my husband said i wont pay bill as you do not letting to finish our drinks. The guy said he will call Police to what we said ok. Of cause he did not get it and instead another female staff also being straight away rude to us said kids can not eat. My 4year old daughter start crying and said i want to eat. And 9 year old son saw all this rude attitude and asked why they so rude. I explained to him that staff supposed to sort this little issue nicer way and told him that this is not nice example he saw. Only the third staff when he came was nice i told him as our kids do not eat food from that menu (as they only eat chicken nuggets) that is why we got for them from mcdonalds. Of cause we did not stay there for lunch. I am working myself with lots of customers and would never talk with them like this. I am sorry my kids saw all this hope they will never treat people like they were by the staff. Would not recommend...
Read moreOne star is too generous. This restaurant blatantly preys on tourists with misleading prices, apathetic staff and food that can only be called edible.
We made the mistake of ordering our first paella in Barcelona here. €18 is already super pricey for this city, but my god, that was the most disgusting paella I’ve ever had the misfortune of swallowing. The only thing saltier was me after seeing the bill…
Remember how the menu said it was “€18”? (Photo attached.) You’d be a fool to believe that, apparently, because it actually cost €36. The price is PER SERVING and each paella serves two. But wait, it gets worse.
Because it’s just outside the Sagrada Familia and we were sat outside (which costs an extra 10%), beggars and vendors were constantly approaching us. Our party was mostly women, so we were treated to an older gentleman who came up to us and began touching the ladies, without consent, obviously. The waiter halfheartedly asked him to stop, but settled for standing by and watching instead. The pervert ignored our yelling at him and refused to leave until we told him to go to church. It felt like a fever dream.
We left hungry and stopped by the supermarket next door, where we bought a load of delicious pastries for less than €10. Do your wallet and digestive system a favour and skip this place.
(This is my first Google review; our experience was so terrible it spurred me to action. Like Batman, but...
