My wife and I were in the restaurant Jamon y vino and I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to our host PACO…
We visited the Sagrada Familia church earlier on a guided tour. Very impressive architecture (no matter what your personal views are of religion).
We found this restaurant in a row of ‘tourist restaurants’ just across from the church.
From the moment we arrived until we left, we were treated with great care and friendly hospitality!
The food was great (very good portion sizes and quality).
We chose a Rioja Crianza (by the glass) and were served with Navajas Crianza 2017.
It is an EXCELLENT full bodied red wine that went very well indeed with our lunch (meat dishes and fish… all absolutely excellently prepared, with fresh ingredients)
We also enjoyed a little chat with PACO, who was managing/hosting the lunchtime guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. (We ordered too much and sadly had to leave a little.. but the food was really good, and, may I say, excellently priced!)
When it came to pay, the bill was very reasonable indeed.. AND THEN PACO CAME OVER WITH A BOTTLE OF NAVAJAS CRIANZA 2017 as a gift.. … a little memory of Barcelona!!
Thank you young man!
May you prosper and enjoy great success! Best wishes, Lance...
Read moreI stopped in here after visiting the Sagrada Familia because I just needed to sit down and eat something. Their Trip Advisor "Certificates of Excellence" gave me some confidence that the food would be good but I was unfortunately disappointed. The service, atmosphere and location are great, though i was a little bummed out they wouldn't seat me outside since I was alone (but I get it, that's fine)
I ordered the seared peppers, Seafood Paella and Sangria Vino. The peppers were great, no complaints there. Sangria was average... so many travel sites suggest it but... its just Sangria. Not sure if it's more mindblowing elsewhere but this was just standard.
The paella was nicely presented in a still hot pan, but the flavors were not it. It was heavily salted and the rice tasted like Campbell's vegetable soup. The consistency of the rice was good, and the mussels/class were fine. But the shrimp hadn't been deveined so I didn't end up eating it because I didnt want a gritty sand vein. Not a fan of calamari so I didn't try it and can't comment, but if it tasted anything like the rice then... no thanks. I suggest people shop around or get something else on the menu. The prices are good which is something...

Jamón y Vino isn’t just another restaurant near a tourist attraction. It’s the real deal. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The service is warm, professional, and fast without ever feeling rushed.
The food? Unreal. The jamón is melt-in-your-mouth perfection, the paella is made fresh and bursting with flavor, and the tapas menu is everything you want in Spanish cuisine — authentic, balanced, and beautifully presented. Even the desserts are next level (don’t miss the Ferrero Rocher creation).
What really sets this place apart is the feeling. It's full of locals, the vibe is relaxed yet elegant, and you can tell the team genuinely cares. They accommodated dietary needs like gluten-free without any fuss, and our server made us feel like we’d been coming there for years.
Whether you’re visiting Barcelona or you live here, Jamón y Vino is that rare find: authentic, consistent, and unforgettable. 10/10 — this is where...
