I was initially excited about Coffee Casa because it came highly recommended by a friend, but my experience was terrible.
The photos online show beautiful latte art, and the reviews are glowing. Even their website promises, “Coffee with a smile! Our baristas love their job and are dedicated to giving you an amazing coffee experience.”
Unfortunately, the female barista at Coffee Casa didn’t live up to that. She handed me my two lattes with the lids already on, which I found strange. Once I opened the drinks, I understood why—there was no latte art, and the lattes tasted watered down. I believe she made a mistake with the lattes and didn’t want to remake them.
When I asked her why there wasn’t any latte art, she simply said, “I’m sorry,” without offering to remake the drinks or improve the situation. There were no other customers in the shop, but maybe that should have been a sign.
I love the coffee scene in Barcelona, so you’ll definitely find something better...
Read moreI love their coffee beans, really good flavors come out of them. They offer delicate beans from Ethiopia but also beans from Brasil expressing a stronger personality. The price of the beverages offers decent value if you chose their delicious oat milk instead of the regular cow milk. The prices get even better if you are a local. If you wish to try something a bit different, go for an Iced Latte with oat milk. This is a really good drink during a hot day.
The pastries except for the croissants are homemade. All items are currently priced 2.45 Euros, which isn't made obvious. Some items are better value than others. The little "financier" cakes and the nut cake covered with milk chocolate are my favourites.
The service is very friendly, you are always welcomed with a smile and a little chat. They care and make sure the customer is happy. The only downside is that it can become quite slow when the place is busy.

Read moreI tried the Chai latte at this place - the sign claimed they have the best Chai in BCN, and the place has good reviews. Utterly disappointed! I paid €3.25 for a cup of sugary, bland, frothy oat milk! No taste of tea or masala Chai whatsoever. How can they claim such a thing???? False advertising!!!!
I should have known better when I walked into the store and saw a few things that made me question the level of care and quality. The server didn’t wear mask - I thought that to be quite careless and irresponsible given Omicron is on the rage. And they sell teas in tea bags! I believe no self respecting place that cares about quality would be selling teas in tea bags. If I wanted low quality tea in bags I would have gotten it at supermarkets, not at a place claiming to have...
