Being from Texas, there are so many cool things I like about this bar but I'll start with the concept... The front is where you'll find the Cowboy part of the theme where there is a loungy, laid-back vibe of southern hospitality. The western style decor and comfy seating with pillows make it a relaxing place to have a drink with friends.
While still under construction for the next couple of weeks, I'm told the larger back portion of the bar will be where the Space part of the theme will stand out. I can't wait to see this come alive and can see it being a new hotspot in Barcelona. A lot of soundproofing work is being done too so it will be nice to hear some louder music than you typically can hear at a place like this.
For food I had the frito pie which is a southern classic, I can't believe there is a place in Barcelona that serves them. It's a combination of corn chips, beef chili, cheese, onions, and jalapenos...if you like nachos, you'll love frito pie. I also had the chicken wings which were great, they fry them well done which I think is sooo much better than eating soggy chicken skin from places that bake them or don't cook as long.
Drinks...they serve Tito's Vodka! It's made in Austin, TX and really hard to find in Europe but loved in Texas. They're also one of the few places I've found out here that has frozen margaritas which they can also add sangria to give it a Spanish twist.
The bartender is also awesome...she's friendly, attentive, makes great micheladas, and brings a good energy to the place.
Looking forward to...
Read moreDuring my trip to Barcelona, I stumbled upon this cool bar by accident. On my way to dinner, I helped a couple find their restaurant, only to discover later that the guy was actually the owner of this place. He suggested I check it out, so I did after my dinner.
When I got there, he gifted me a drink, showed me around, and even told me about the history of the place. To my surprise, there was a free comedy show happening that night. The place was nicely decorated, the drinks were great, and the vibe was friendly. I had a great time mingling with other guests and never felt bored.
I liked it so much that I went back with my colleagues for a company event. We ended up having a blast in the private karaoke room. There was a small mix-up with a staff member - one of my colleagues accidentally kicked him while trying to close the door. The staff member got a bit defensive at first, but once we explained the situation, we all had a good laugh and continued to enjoy the fantastic atmosphere of the place. Despite the hiccup, it was a memorable and enjoyable experience, and I definitely recommend checking it out for a fun night...
Read moreMy friends and I were queuing for one hour to get into the karaoke night on Thursday 28th of March. We were very respectful and waiting for our turn to get in. When we were finally at the front of the queue, the bouncer denied us entry and told us to leave. His reasoning was ‘I don’t like your attitude’ even though we haven’t done anything wrong and were patiently waiting to go in and have a fun evening. Of course I then continued asking him to give me a reason why he is not letting us in but he kept on repeating the same thing and not actually giving us any adequate reason. When I insisted to speak to his supervisor, he wouldn’t let me and he was getting quite verbally aggressive.
This was a very unpleasant experience and I have never felt so unwelcome!
I strongly advise for the establishment to take action and take this further with this employee because he is turning down customers. I can say that nobody from our group of 6 will ever go to this place again!
Date and time was just before midnight on...
