DEPARTURE COFFEE has already become a reference point to all the coffee lovers in BCN. Located in Raval at an old carpentry, they have maintained that style, making it a very unique artsy place. Here they work with coffee roasted by local roasters @slow.mov , where they use specific temperature curves to enhance the notes of flavors of each grain. They assure us that the best way to taste it is with a filter coffee made in a Chemex coffee maker, which, by the way, is gorgeous???? There is space in case you want to work(or eat their delicious cakes), and some outside that will make you stay for hours reading a book. Finally if you want to learn more about coffee, they do hold some courses in the art of Specialty Coffee.

I don't really get how someone could give this café less than a five star rating, seriously. Its inviting aura instantly caught my eye - hidden in a small alley with its hipsteresque vibe... it could only mean one thing: quality coffee. I quickly became a regular not only due to the product that they offer (insane artisanal cookies and cakes, great Mediterranean sandwiches...) but also because the owners make you feel like home. They instantly ask you about your day before they proceed to take your order which by the way, they always remember. Another thing that I particularly fancy about this place its their music, they have such tailored playlists that one can't help but ask what song or artist is playing. At the end of the day, life is all about details and they have that bit more...
