El Caserón — Restaurant in Barcelona

While the food was good, I feel the server was having a bad day. She treated us with disdain from the moment we arrived. I ordered a salad and my husband ordered a soup and we both had the cachopo, which is a really large meal in and of itself. I think the server tried to warn us because she made sure we knew the price of the plate. Everything, and I mean everything, came out at the very same time. This must have caused the staff some humour as they all took turns to come out gawk and have a laugh, including the cook. When I pointed out that there was no way we could eat all this food while still warm at once, her response was to throw the cook under the bus and say he always does what he wants. Obviously we had to box the main meals and take to go. Seriously bad experience, our first in Barcelona. We relied on reviews from TripAdvisor, which BTW they had stickers from TripAdvisor all over their front window. Not a...

I say this in the most sincere way possible. This place should not be serving food. If you fail to make fried potatoes edible, you really should not be selling people food. I had the house special burger. There is nothing special about it, other than being utterly distasteful. Overcooked meat, eggshell in the egg, and completely lacking spices and salt.

Then again, the service was as one expects, it was clean and the beer was cheap, and, most importantly, they showed the world cup.

Just stop serving food, please. We deserve better.

Ps. You know you can time "timers"? Hence the name..? To have the restroom go pitch black in darkness whilst mid-piss does not do...

Llevaba tiempo queriendo comerme un buen cachopo y vi que el CASERON ofrecia uno y alla fuimos a probar que tal…. La tencion recibida por la chica k nos atendio fue muy muy agradable y eso siempre es de agradecer… Pedimos varias cositas para picar antes de ordenar el plato estrella por el cual habiamos decidido ir… Sepia, albondigas que espero que sean caseras, aunque no pregunte la verdad… pero de sabor estaban bastante buenas, lo unico que la racion era solamente de 3 y hubiese agradecido k fuese de 4 aunque se cobre un pelin mas y asi a la hora de compartir se hace mas facil. Pedimos tambien 2 raciones de pancito con tomate y los huevos rotos que la verdad los recomiendo bastante, es algo sencillo pero a veces lo sencillo sorprende, la eacion era bastante buena y se agradece que vengan 3 huevitos xk asi a la hora de romperlos las patatas se humedecen como tienen que ser… asi que super recomendado… Y por ultimo pedimos el plato estrella el gran cachopo… la verdad como racion para compartir cunde totalmente… el precio ya de ahi que cada uno juzgue a su manera… de sabor no estaba mal, aunque un pelin seco, no quiero decir con esto que este malo, y de queso me hubiese gustado sentirlo un pelin mas … en conclusion estaba bien pero todo es mejorable en esta vida… pero pasen, prueben y juzguen ustedes mismos… Todo esto fue acompañado de un albariño fresquito y para rematar una tarta de queso que juraria que casera no era pero mala no era y me encanta que se acompañe con nata como la old school!!
