El Guajolote — Restaurant in Barcelona

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "A Halloween Miracle Dinner!"

Today was my girlfriend's lunar birthday, and we were both so excited for a Mexican feast at El Guajolote, especially after seeing all the rave reviews online. We arrived at 8 PM, hoping to walk right in since others had mentioned no reservation was needed. Well… tonight was Halloween, and the place was fully booked! We almost left, thinking we’d made the rookie mistake of showing up without a reservation.

But the staff here were absolute legends! They graciously adjusted things and managed to squeeze us in for an hour. We quickly took their recommendations for two Halloween specials, and wow—every bite was amazing! We loved it so much that we had to order one more dish. After finishing up, (I got to confess, we had toooo much, yet we did finish everything, sooo good), we planned to pay and leave without causing a fuss, but they surprised us by saying we still had time for dessert!

We were Mexicans visiting Spain…we stopped in for lunch and they did not disappoint. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best Mexican food I have EVER had (don’t tell my nana I said that haha). The sauces and flavors of the food were perfect! Everything was made fresh. The chef is from Mexico City!!! We are returning for dinner for sure. Very clean, amazing customer service. They felt like family…we tried nearly everything on the menu and everything was delicious.
