Well-located place in a nice square. I would say even the food was good (pricey though!). But there is no way to have a quiet time with your loved ones. They just push you out with no tact as soon as they can, so that they can have a new table. They served the last plate and the last drink together with the bill, and as soon as we finished the plate, with still 80% of drinks remaining, they asked to leave. To be honest, at that point, service became awful. It is really a shame. It was not only our table but basically everyone at the place.

Read moreAbsolute jewel among Barcelona's culinary delights. Stayed at nearby Hilton and wandered around the neighborhood and found this great restaurant/bar. Truly a local clientele...was there Thursday and Friday nights...Friday was a delight with all the families and kids milling around the plaza that the restaurant fronts. Did not seem like many tourists....but what food!! The salmon cubes (in a soy sauce), scorpion fish, eggs at low temperature, and Iberian ham and cheese plate were fantastic. Seemed like the menu focused on seafood dishes although there was a nice selection of fowl and meat. The Sangria was great. Jose was the maitre d' and showed us superb service. Read moreOur first experience of Barcelona... was an unwelcoming one? Seated ourselves outside of this quaint place- we didn't actually go inside. Greeted by a young lad who gave us a Spanish menu although we were clearly English and he wouldn't speak to us in English even though he knows how to speak it and we had limited Spanish speaking. The jamon and cannelloni was nice, but nothing dietary was indicated on the menu. I had a cocktail which was nice but took ages to come out and my partner reordered a beer and didn't get it. It just seemed quite hostile in the area, maybe so they keep their Catalan heritage but didn't go elsewhere here because this experience put us off......
