The only appealing aspect about this place is the atmosphere, everything else is below average. I have been to Forastera so many times I can’t even count, every time I was disappointed. Why? Because the servers neglected me, they were moody, slow paced, unenthusiastic. At first I was thinking “its okay maybe their at the end of their shift” or “their probably having a bad day” but no this behavior has been continuous. Another thing that makes this place displeasing is the food, and you would think that a restaurant should serve relatively good food, but apparently thats not always the case. The mac n cheese and nachos taste like farts. The greek yogurt bowls taste good half the time, but will cause a stomach ache, basically you shouldn’t order anything with dairy because you will turn lactose intolerant. It’s been three weeks where they have been out of stock with strawberries, I miss the pancakes with strawberries and cream and the strawberry smoothie, they took away the only thing I enjoyed. I thought that strawberry season could be over but the grocery store on the next block sells them. One of the waiters kept winking at my friend and it was so creepy especially with the age difference. In conclusion please do...
Read moreWe visited this stylish and trendy restaurant several times over the course of a week and tried quite a few dishes. The burger was tasty and filling, and they always added an extra portion of fries for our child without us asking – a small but thoughtful gesture. The rice with chicken or cream sauce was absolutely delicious, and the coffee was genuinely good every time.
The service was generally fine, though we didn’t quite feel completely at home as a family – not unfriendly, just a bit distant. One thing that stood out was that the restaurant seemed to give different menus to different guests, which left us slightly puzzled and affected our overall impression.
That said, it’s a nice place with good food. Prices are a bit higher than average for the area, which is understandable given the modern vibe. All in all, we do...
Read moreWe had the 3 course lunch menu here (changes daily priced at around 11eur) and i couldn’t believe this place is part of a student accommodation judging from the quality of their dishes! The food is so well made and well presented! I’d reckon Forastera the best cafeteria in a student accommodation in the world. Out of all the dishes we particularly recommend the entree pesto cuttlefish which tasted fresh and yummy. We really liked the coconut sorbet as dessert too! A reasonably priced cafeteria offering high quality food is non-existent in where I’m from (Canada and Hong Kong) and I’m totally envious of the students staying here, or maybe Spanish just have a high standard when it comes to...
