I have been training here for about 2 months and have really enjoyed it! The workouts are mostly kettlebell based functional training, but with a lot of variety so it's never boring. The best kind of trainers are the ones you love them for their attentiveness to details & techniques, but at the same time you hate them for how hard they push you 😈. Both Leo and Verónica are exactly that! And for me, my Spanish is infant-level (work in progress), but langauge has not been an issue for me as the workout is pretty easy to understand, and the trainers are accommodating and patient to explain when I have questions.
Since COVID started, I had to stop going to traditional gyms as I have seen a lot don't even follow their own safety measures, as if they aren't responsible for protecting their customers. I am so glad I found a gym that actually takes COVID measures seriously! At Kettlebells Barcelona, classes are capped at 9 people (so 10 including the trainer); everyone has their own equipments and a designated workout area spaced out appropriately; and at the end of the class everyone is instructed to sanitize their equipments for the next class. Read moreKBB is such a lovely discovery for me in Barcelona. Both Leo and Vero are extremely professional and very fun to workout with. I am new to Barcelona, cannot speak Spanish well, have an issue with my body weight and type, need motivation & am not very athletic. But after doing workouts here for 3 months now, I feel much more energetic and always look forward to the next class. I pay more focus to not my weight but to how fit I feel. The class is a very small & mixed group , so there are people who are very professional and some beginners like me. The beauty of this is that everyone has personal attention due to small group size & I constantly feel motivated to do better. The equipment is well organised & the facility is very neat. Leo (the owner) understand bio-mechanics and can scale workouts for beginners and advanced gym rats alike. You aren't just handed a program and sent off to do your own thing, rather you follow the program for the day and are coached during your entire session.
It can be a bit daunting trying something new like kettlebells, but Leo makes you feel right at home with just a hand shake. There is a very social aspect as you train together with others in the session. And you're not just swinging a KB the entire session either. Leo will have you doing routines ranging from pull-ups to air squats, and pike push-ups to Turkish get-ups.
