KALAMATA - TAPES I GINTÒNIC — Restaurant in Barcelona

Just like a BAD movie! I visited this place many times before and i cant believe my eyes! ( Did they change the owner)? I checked this week 3 times, because i thought i was dreaming. When you enter it smells dirty, (not clean). Table where we have to sit was still with plates - glasses from the clients before (dirty). A lot of small flies in the whole restaurant? Cleaning my hands on the toilet, no paper towels and toilet dirty. Ordering food took more then 40 minutes, restaurant was not busy (no big groups) but 40 min.? Employees are more focused on their mobiles then on the clients! One person was talking so loud on her mobile without shame i think it was the manager. ( your clients dont want to hear your problems). Food vs Price - Overpriced small plates and the quality not like before. Person behind bar, told us sorry but i cant make cocktails, no problem. When we need to pay the bill, they calculated some plates double, what we didnt consumed. (but solved) Service - It felt that we need to be happy, to have some food and drinks, instead they where happy we come and want to enjoy the Experience!

Horrible, horrible service. I think they hate Americans- don’t come here if you’re American. They were extremely attentive to the other English speaking foreigners , constantly checking on them, but treated us horribly - I genuinely dont know what we could’ve done to deserve that treatment.. we spoke to them in Spanish as well, we were not loud or rude in the slightest. I wonder if they forgot to put in our order , and then tried to pretend we didn’t exist after realizing they made a big mistake. Not only did they ignore us, but when we asked them to check on the final dish so we could all start eating, the female server rushed passed us saying “he’s working on it” — no apology, didn’t try to check on it, was extremely rude about it.

Besides the horrible service (btw, we waiting over 1.5 hours for food and no one ever checked on us NOT ONCE), the food was pretty overpriced .. they also put orange Fanta soda in our sangria pitcher… ew. It was extremely low quality sangria for an expensive...

My family and I found this great restaurant during our stay at the Four Points Sheraton hotel which was located about 1 -2 blocks away. We were greeted by Rosella (not sure of spelling) who was warm and friendly and spoke english since my spanish skills were virtually nonexistent. They had a pretty good variety of food choices which we shared and were all delicious. My son loved the fried chicken which had a great crispy batter and tasty sauce to go along with it. My wife and daughter loved the shrimp ceviche in coconut milk, which was fresh and flavorful. The local iberico ham was also fresh and tasty. Because we dined during their transition period between day and evening staff, our service was resumed by another waitress, Rosie. She too was great and spoke great English. She was pleasant patient with us and we never felt rushed. If your’re ever staying within the area I would definitely stop by and...
