I don’t usually write restaurant reviews, but my family and I loved our dining experience at La Broqueta so much, that we wanted to share with others. First, the setting is in a quieter part of Barcelona (Poblenou) on a Rambla with lots of restaurants. It was a nice change from some of the downtown hustle and close to the beach. We were seeking a restaurant with typical Spanish cuisine that could accommodate a gluten free/vegetarian diet. As we stood outside the restaurant reviewing the menu, a bilingual waiter approached and answered questions about our dietary concerns. He lived in the US for several years, so his English was very strong. Fortunately, he was our waiter for the evening. Everything we ordered was delicious! Patatas Bravas, Tortilla Espanola, garlic mushrooms, eggplant, grilled asparagus, salmon skewer, and vegetarian paella. The sangria was excellent and our waiter brought out a little dessert liquor on the house at the end of our meal. We were pleasantly surprised that the meal price was very reasonable as there was so much food for our family of five. We only found the restaurant our last night in town and truly found it to be a hidden gem. We wanted our last night to include authentic, delicious food and that’s what we had. I highly recommend checking out...

Our dining experience at La Broqueta was truly exceptional. We had the pleasure of trying their delectable Salmon, Butifarra Brochette, and the anchovies were simply the best we have ever tasted. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs.
What truly elevated our dining experience was the impeccable service provided by Natalia and Daniel. Their attentiveness, knowledge, and genuine warmth made us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening. Their professionalism and passion for their craft truly stood out, and they are undoubtedly among the best servers we have ever encountered.

Read moreWanted to sit out on the terrace but we were asked to move in due to the rain. For me it’s just water and we were under a parasol but it rains so rarely in BCN that for them it was not possible to sit out. Inside we selected the table nearest to the facade and the air conditioning didn’t work all the way there. The decor was cozy.
The service was very friendly, especially Diego, Mía and Sahira. ❤️
My margarita was so sweet that I needed to return it. It came better back but it seems drinks are not their specialty. Sangria was fruity and wines ok.
Gambas were not the best I have had. Chicken soup seemed to made of frozen vegetables (in Spain full of good quality greens…). Pasta Carbonara was nothing special- from this kind of simple dishes you can tell the quality of the kitchen. My steak tartare wasn’t greatest either, even if it is one of my favourites normally.
