What to say about 4 Latas Poblenou?
This is a nice tapas bar right on the Rambla del Poblenou. The decor is certainly on point, from the bar to the furniture and even the ceiling. The terrace area is specious, like the inside is, which is a plus when you go with a big party, with higher chances of being able to sit together. Additionally, they have plenty of high chairs, and they cleaned them in front of us. The ambiance is nice, and the staff is kind, attentive, and patient. It would have gotten a five-star rating had the food fulfilled my expectations. Instead, some dishes were lacking taste or even good texture, such as the fried calamari, the vegan chicken quesadilla (the tofu chicken was almost non-existent), and the pizza, which kind of tasted like supermarket box pizza. And the patatas bravas were not really bravas due to the weird tasting sauce, which, albeit having kimchi in it, was a bit disappointing, because I have tried brava sauce at other restaurants and it was delicious. The dishes that saved the night were the diced sirloin, the pork cracklings, and the canelon too, sort of. The menu is extensive, but it seems like it's more of a place to go have drinks and talk rather than enjoy a nice...

There are lots of restaurants on the strip that are open late and have outdoor seating, and I chose 4 Latas because their warmers were on and the ambiance was nice. I ended up getting the Iberia pizza (standard pizza but with sliced tomatoes and thinly slice pork shoulder as toppings). The pizza was good (about 12" size, wood fired), the service was friendly and fast, and the outdoor seating was lovely and comfortable even late at night. They have a large menu (including sandwiches, paella, beer, etc), so if you're up late, it's a great place to get good food, and they have servers who speak excellent English. I would definitely...
Read moreNice atmosphere and people around you. Better place to have a drink than dinner. Average food, quite greasy, not much choice of wine. Mushroom croquettes were a recommendation and were not good, the mixture was too thick; the aubergines were greasy but with a good spicy sauce; the sirloin…the meat is not the best quality. Not a place for dinner..a place for drinks and maybe nibbles or even eating something at the point that you had enough to drink and you don’t care...
