We had a bad experience. First we looked at the menu in English exposed outside. We wanted a grilled Dorada. Once inside the menu was only in Spanish, which we do not understand. The waiter said they had no dorada, but they had heek (white fish), which was also good. Ok, we said, and ordered a heek, squid rings, and drinks. (The only dish with heek in the menu costed 13,5€. The waiter proposed us fried bread with tomatoes, we accepted, but later it was included in the bill! Then the waiter brought us a normal beer instead of non alcoholic, but being reminded, he apologized and exchanged it. Then he brought us two(!!!) plates of heek, and not grilled but baked probably. And the final surprise was the bill, brought to us by another waiter - the first left without saying goodbye - it had 2 portions of "turbo something" not heek, for 19,5 each!!! And as i mentioned, the bread with tomatoes, proposed by the waiter in a manner "do you want something with the drinks until the dishes are ready" was also included in the bill. I asked to show me where in the menu there was anything for 19,5€, behause there wasn't. The waiters started to explain that they gave us a better fish, and it was not in the menu ( yeah, right) but accepted to return us the difference in price, but again, first gave us 5€, i said no, - ok, take 10, i said no, count! And finally after long counting returned us the right amount of 12€. Yes, the dishes were quite tasty, but we had no pleasure eating them. We do not recommend, I'm sure one can find something with better service...

Located in Barceloneta, this restaurant is in a square you wouldn't find by accident. Thankfully, one of our group members who lived in Barcelona recommended it. We visited on a sunny and warm day, perfect for an outdoor lunch 🌞.

There are plenty of tables outside, which is great for large groups like ours of ten people.

We started with appetizers like bread with tomatoes, smoked sardines, shoulder ham, and fried green asparagus as for my vegetarian option. For the main course, our group shared paella, while I had a delicious rice with vegetables. The local new wine, red and white, recommended by the waitress was a hit with everyone. We couldn’t leave without trying the Crema Catalana for dessert, and it was fantastic. All the food and drinks were very tasty, and agreed by everyone 😋.

The service was good overall. The waitresses were kind and friendly, though the older waiter seemed a bit rude. Additionally, the service was a bit slow, especially when we waited for the bill 🤔.

Overall, it was a very nice experience. This is definitely a great spot for lunch in...

Nobody from the personal noticed us. We had to find a seat by ourselves and ask personal if we can take a seat. They agreed but then still nobody brought us a menu and after cca 5 minutes of waiting we took a menu by ourselves. Then we waited cca 5 more minutes and still nobody noticed us, it was like we were invisible, it was strange, because our table was just by the entrance and all the waiters were passing by our table all the time while the were going to serve the outside tables (we had to sit inside, cause there were no free seat outside). After that, because we were quite hungry and tired, it was late and also the air inside the restaurant, we decided to ho out and find another restaurant near by. Maybe the food is good there, but because the very poor service we hadn't chance...

Want to eat local? Come here. The only place we came back twice during our stay in Barcelona (even though the first time a pigeon pooped on both of us, so stay under cover!). Fantastic foods and a very friendly atmosphere, they made us feel like we lived around the corner and were regular guests. You can even feel the smell of sea. Most places of this quality are either for tourists with all the glam (like the plethora of restaurants just next block along the main street or the ones downtown) or are a bit bland/simple. However with all its rustic simplicity this place served some of the best foods we ate in Barcelona. We miss it already.
