La Esquinita de Blai — Restaurant in Barcelona

Went pincho(s) “hopping” along Carrer de Blai and pit-stopped at Esquinita. Can’t review the tapas but unlike some, the pinchos were not warmed slightly before serving — so, a couple of the baguette base were a tad “soggy.” it was more canapé-sized so you don’t get a hearty mouthful as you would in some outlets. There were mostly ice in the Aperol Spritz — perhaps it was just my glass. For €1.60, one gets a small 33 cl (330 ml, not 500 ml) bottle of water.

Despite ordering just a few pinchos, they calculated it wrongly. They will rectify it eventually but as with all bills, it is good practise to take a few seconds to run through it. .

That's the perfect place for both snacking and having a proper meal. Tapas bar is massive with around 30-40 different tapas to choose from. You just come in and pick up what you fancy and then pay for the cocktail sticks (see pictures) 😉 Then there is a hot food menu which has a great selection as well. Drinks are quite cheap (we had a bottle of rioja for 12€ and it was beautiful! Went there around 15:00. There were no other customers. The waitress was friendly. She kindly brought the plate saying she would warm up my selection a little. However, when I tried to eat it, it was quite hot and I burned my lower lip. I paid by card and it was 17.8€. I thought it was too expensive for a drink and 3 pintxos, so I got the receipt and it was 10.8€. I asked for a refund and paid 10.8€ again. The refund hasn't been processed yet.
