Authentic Lebanese food ๐ Highly recommended!!
While in Barcelona my friend and I craved some Lebanese food. We found a few options on Google and we decided to try Lazeez and we couldn't be happier!
The menu is well put together and designed. It is a simple menu with mouth watering dishes.
I personally favor restaurants that have a one page menu, fewer items as opposed to a 50 page Bible like menu offering hundreds of random unrelated dishes. (Obviously, I'm exaggerating...)
Nonetheless, that was not the case at Lazeez. Every dish was carefully selected and well designed.
The Tabouli was constructed with very fresh ingredients bringing several delicious tastes into your mouth that you won't forget for ours to come. Perfect portion! ๐
The Battata Harra (Crispy potatoes) was also a good portion for two/three people as an appetizer. Potatoes were chunky and crispy garnished with cilantro (I believe) served with fresh cut of lemon! Be sure to squeeze the lemon juice over the potatoes before eating. Makes it absolutely delicious!
My mixed grill dish proved that trying Lazeez was a great choice!
At first, I was stunned by the craft of the dish, not because it was designed beautifully, but because in this dish you are served a skewer of lamb, chicken and kaftan (ground beef) with side of garlic sauce, grilled onion (amazing!) and a half of potato grilled to golden texture.
I thought the design of this dish was brilliant as I had expected the three skewers to be served with rice and perhaps side of hummus, etc which would be too much food and I would ended regreting trying to eat it all. Though, I wasn't disappointed at all rather delighted that the dish wasn't overly stuffed and heavy. It was perfect!
The kebobs were fresh, juicy, flavourful and delicious!!
My hats off to the chef
While i will happily return to Lazeez, I do wish a couple of things based on my one time experience (not a deal breaker):
I'd be happier if the portion of the garlic sauce was slightly a bigger portion. 2X
As I judge most restaurants by how clean they keep their bathroom, I do wish if more attention was paid to the cleanliness of the WC.
P.s. Tiny room and very uncomfortable to get in and out.
Wait staff serving food in one hand and broom in the other hand not appropriate.
We will definitely return if we find ourselves in the...

So I'm not too much in the mood for celebrations. ๐ Yet, some days ago was my Saint's Day. Pretty much anywhere in the world, Saint's Days are just normal days... not in ๐ช๐ธ! So it was time for celebration... but I didn't even feel like choosing a place to have dinner... ๐ So my wife chose. She chose Lazeez BBQ, a ๐ฑ๐ง restaurant a few meters from our place where we had already been once. I remember I liked it but I didn't feel good after that first time (even though I didn't think that was due to the food). Don't worry, this time I didn't get sick. ๐ ๐ฑ๐ง food is not my fav. I like it, but this is not what I would usually pick. But she had been wanting to go there for a while so... ๐คทโโ๏ธ My wife can only eat ๐ฅฉ these days so she had a mixed grill. I can have everything so I basically had all the rest! ๐ I'm kidding but I did have foul mudammas (chickpeas and fava beans) and lamb shawarma (on the plate, with a side of salad)... and I pushed for my son to have ๐ and ๐. ๐ Everything was very good, although I would have prefered my meat with no sauce. Of course, there was too much food, but that's no big deal cause we took the rest to go. And although we ordered too much, we only paid about โฌ25 each. ๐ The service was nice but a bit chaotic: for instance, I got my main before my starter... And the staff only spoke ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ (well, they didn't speak ๐ช๐ธ, at least), which is something that I find super weird. The place has been open for a couple of years now (at least), which should give them more than enough time to learn enough ๐ช๐ธ to serve the food they prepared... But at least they were nice. I guess this is what matters the most, at the end. ๐คทโโ๏ธ The place was really nice and we felt comfortable, although we smelled like food when we came back home.

ย ย ย Read moreMy wife and I found this restaurant by accident, just passing by on the way to Casa Vicens, so decided to try it, as the menu looked vegetarian friendly. It wasn't too busy (we like to eat early) so they found a table for 2, with a space to park my wife's wheelchair. The waitress, Anita, was very helpful with the menu, so we chose 4 starters as the meal, all of which were delicious. The lemonade my wife chose, with no sugar, was also good, as was the Lebanese beer I had. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the wheelchair as we left. The next evening, after a tiring day exploring the various Gaudi buildings, we returned for a second time. It helped that it was close to our hotel, so not too hard pushing a wheelchair. This time we were greeted like family, and they rushed to help us in with the chair. A slightly different choice of food, a bit less as 4 starters was too much. And that left room for a dessert! The next night my wife wanted a change, so I said, find somewhere! She didn't, so we returned to the Lazeez, and she admitted it was the right choice! Again treated like family, food great again, and sent on our way full and happy. We had no problem getting a table for two without a booking, despite most tables being reserved on the 3rd night (Saturday) and in fact the staff even found an extra table for a couple who arrived after us. i can imagine having trouble finding space if you eat later than us, but we had no problem. We want to go to Barcelona again, and will definitely return to the Lazeez, even if we aren't staying nearby. Even the music (Lebanese?)...
