The staff were really charming and welcoming but only to be very disappointed by the food experience. If any of you have been visiting spain / Barcelona would know that for a "Pan con tomate" it's not Ok to serve a few slices of stale bread with half a tomatoes and a raw garlic on the side, salt on a cup with no olive oil. Not to mentioned the tiny portions that is supposedly to be "plate" size. We've have been living in Barcelona for 2 years and it's the first time we felt so disappointed, especially when there's so much other choices in the neighborhood within 5 min radius. We visited La Gastronomica for a tasting dinner with a group of friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed all eight courses, each of them a true delight for the palate. Among the excellent dishes, the scallops on pea purée with Iberian ham and the slow-cooked pork tenderloin on potato purée with wine reduction stood out as exceptional. Interesting modernly furnished restaurant. Despite the Saturday night load when the restaurant was busy, we were served quickly and all eight of us were satisfied. The service was attentive and fast, many thanks. The food was tasty and the portions sufficient, I was pleasantly surprised. The only complaint is the uncomfortable bar stools, which belong to the design of the restaurant but force you not to sit there for too long. And the main thing, although I give 5 stars, I honestly think that the restaurant is overrated. Thank you for a pleasant evening...
