I went three times. The food is nice, but portions are very small and prices are too high. The portion of jamón were couple of slices. Now, the service is alright but yesterday we really didn’t like the way the waiter pushed us to order more dishes and urged us that we have to order everything at once, which I have never seen in tapas restaurant before. She repeated three times that we are not ordering enough. That if she would know she wouldn’t give us the table on the terrace. I was feeling bad in front of my visit and that’s not how I imagine my evening, so we skipped the dessert and left. So actually she achieved quite the opposite she wanted. We were ordering bottles of wine and their tapas. We used to like the place and we recommended the restaurant to lot of people. I don’t think that this is the way to treat a customer, you can suggest it but not push people like this. It’s not a shop, it’s a restaurant. People come to have...

My wife and I stopped in today for a late lunch. We ordered some salads, the ribs and ox tail. The food was the best we have had in recent memory and the staff could not have been more welcoming and inviting. The staff all spoke great English which helped us immensely due to our poor Spanish. They explained the menu and provided exceptional customer service.

The food combinations are incredible and are well thought out and delicious. The sauce with the ribs, the polenta with the oxtail, the desserts all perfect.

We finished the meal with the brownie and the creme brulee with a nice (generous) pour of Hennessey.

Cannot recommend this place enough. It was the most memorable food we have had in a long time and can't...

I had an amazing time at La Platilleria as a solo diner. I luckily got a seat at the bar, well before it got too busy for walk-ins. I chose to have a few gildas, the special beetroot carpaccio with feta and tzatziki, as well as the oxtail which I'd read so much about. For dessert I was recommended the caramelised banana with dulce de leche and it did not disappoint. The service, food and wine were all amazing. And to top it off, the pricing was incredibly fair! I'll gladly be back next time...

One of the best restaurant experiences of my life. You're greeted by this wonderful lady, I hope I remember her name right, Mariella, who was such an amazing host, waitress, do it all. And Fernando the chef, I sensed that he had some Michelin training or experience. Turns out he had, the food could easily has been from a top rated Michelin restaurant. This restaurant really should be rated 5 by everyone. Outstanding, tucked away in some corner of Barcelona. Bravo!!!!

Having lived in Barcelona for a year now, I still haven’t found a better place for tapas than La Platilleria. The food is extremely good and you’ll always get to try out something new since they regularly change a part of the menu. Besides, their desserts are spectacular. In addition to the delicious food, the service is super friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy. For me, La Platilleria is the best tapas restaurant in Barcelona.
