I had a very pleasant dinner at Lincoln32. A modern bistrot, offering an elegant vibe, right in the Sarria-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona. Something that might be not typical outside of Spain is the possibility of reserving before the kitchen opens. Arriving slightly before 20:00, I was told that the kitchen was still closed. Apparently this is common in Spain, as the time before dinner is usually spent savouring good wine or another beverage. The menu boasts some Spanish classics such as croquetas, padron peppers, pan con tomate, a lot of fresh fish, and a twist on the classics. My absolute highlight was the rabo de toro croqueta. I could feel that the meet had been cooked for a long time, just perfect. The Gorgonzola, spinach and pear one was also good, but the cheese flavour took over the others (as understandable when cooking mild flavours with stronger ones). The pan con tomate came in a way I didn’t expect: I received a tomato, two cloves of garlic and bread. At first, I thought that this do-it-your-own approach was going against the elegant vibe of the place, but then I found it totally in line with their menu, offering still Spanish classics at the core. So I did enjoy making it myself! For a main, I got a gambas carpaccio with a citrus reduction. Fish was fresh and the citrusy flavour was spot on. However, to be a main, that was not sufficient - probably it should still be considered as appetiser. Dessert options were also interesting; when opting for the fruit, I received very tasty strawberries in milk cream. My generous glass of Ribera was also not too strong nor acidic, right what I wanted. Overall, ingredients were fresh and good, and the vibe was private and relaxed. Perhaps a bit on the pricy side (the carpaccio was over 20), but it’s Barcelona and it’s fish. I totally recommend this!

Classy place with good food but not outstanding. Good wines by the glass and a friendly and fast service. Food is good, gourmet burger maybe not quite gourmet but good. Bacalau cod fish and chips balls were a little chewy but tasty.

Solid upscale restaurant. High quality food, great tasting, and good service. We went during lunch and had the whole place to ourselves.

Buen provecho y a...
