Honestly this place was really “meh” for me. I would have given it a 2 but my husband reckoned 3. The decor was nice, slightly quirky. When we sat down we noticed although busy a lot of the other diners seemed quite glum eating. The servers were all very friendly and quick. I had the Turkish eggs- they were bland, really really bland. I had to ask for hot sauce as I’d initially declined it when first served as it looked like it was going to be packed with flavour. The “chilli” oil on top literally had no taste. Like a vegetable oil or similar, not even the tastiness of a good olive oil. The ratios were all wrong, the eggs were tiny- nowhere near enough garlic and dill for the vast amount of yogurt, it really wasn’t good. The table next to us ordered the same and made the exact same remarks to each other. I couldn’t finish my huge bowl of plain yoghurt. My husband said the eggs royal were fine. Definitely not the best or worst he had had but fine. The iced vanilla coffees were insanely sweet but nice enough. The place is very overpriced for what it’s serving when you compare it to other places in the city centre. The waiter brought the bill and had highlighted the tipping part but we noticed not everyone’s bill had the highlight. We actually found this really rude. Never in my life have I left a restaurant without tipping even places where it’s been really awful food and service. The service at milk had been its redeeming factor so this was disappointing. If it was on everyone’s bill I don’t think I would have been bothered but it didn’t seem to be. Of course we still did tip, but we’re Scottish we always do.
Edit: Dear Owner, Of course I noticed these things. How could I not? Instead of making snarky remarks to reviewers would it not be better to take the feedback constructively. It would certainly be more...
Read moreMy family came to Milk Bar for New Years Eve, 2023. We weren't sure what to expect since we had never been to the restaurant. It was amazing! We had so much fun and enjoyed every minute. The staff was especially friendly and accommodating, serving and enjoying the night with us well past midnight with only smiles and laughter. It was great, tbh, we didn't want to leave. Rob approaches his bartending responsibilities with care and creativity, offering us the best from his own creations to the more traditional espresso martini. And such a great guy, we hope to see him again some day. Rosa was outstanding as well, so kind and gentle, and just a blast to hang with for the NYE. The food was fantastic, and we can't wait to try brunch. If it's anything like the dinner we enjoyed, it's going to be great. All dishes were perfectly prepared and seasoned. The restaurant decor is charming and well done. It was a warm and inviting atmosphere with hints of fun, excitement and history thrown in. We'll always remember our time here in Barcelona with warmth and affection, but especially the evening we had at Milk. Thanks guys for a wonderful and...
Read moreWith high ratings on Google, I was curious to see if it was as great as the reviews….. definitely was! I came here twice for breakfast and usually when I’m on vacation I like to try a new place for each meal. A smaller, cozy and quaint establishment that cooks up an eclectic variety of breakfasts/brunch style food options from a Classic Eggs Benedict, Chorizo Hash, Shashuka and Huevos Rancheros to mention a few. If you’re staying in Gothic Quarter, take an enjoyable walk here to satisfy your Barcelona Brunch expectations of tasty. I usually have to add salt and pepper to all my food and did not need any additional flavorings. I had the Cajun Maple Bacon Eggs Benedict and it was delicious!!! The quality of the bacon was great, not oily or fatty. My second time, I ordered the Texas Benedict and added maple bacon for a sweet and spicy combo. I sampled the Chorizo Hash which were amazing flavors. I tried the Bloody Maria and the mix spicy and good. I also had the White Sangria which was juicy and delicious. Portions, quality and service for a busy establishment…5 stars! The BEST breakfast I had while...
