I recently visited Molika cafe and had a somewhat mixed experience. Let me start with the good: the cafe itself is cozy, well-decorated, and a great place to work or relax. A special mention goes to the two wonderful women who were incredibly kind and helpful when I arrived. I asked where I could charge my laptop, and they showed me a creative solution—suggesting I unplug the lamp to use that socket. It was a thoughtful gesture that left a positive impression on me.
Unfortunately, my experience took a turn for the worse when another staff member—who had just started his shift—intervened while I was on an important phone call. Without any prior discussion, he abruptly told me that I couldn’t use the socket and proceeded to unplug my charger and move my personal belongings. His tone was rude and completely unprofessional, leaving me feeling disrespected and embarrassed.
While I appreciate the overall atmosphere and the excellent service provided by the two women, this man’s behavior was a glaring exception. It’s disappointing when one staff member’s actions undermine what could have been a great experience.
To the management: I truly hope this was an isolated incident, as the rest of your team clearly understands the value of customer service.
I would be truly appreciated if management would reach me since the guy started to lie me, trying to constantly provoke even after I refused to talk to him - hard to imagine seeing aggressive behaviour from the barista...
Read moreMolika and our barista Laura were amazing. I was at a hotel down the street and Yelp directed me to this cozy and coffee shop about 5 blocks away... It was worth the short walk. I literally started almost every day in Barcelona by stopping by Molika.
What puts this place in my top 10 coffee shops of all time and my favorite in Barcelona? The coffee is outstanding, the barista really takes pride in the drinks that are produced. I had their cappuccino and their mocha. A note to Americans, their mocha is on the smaller side, much more like an espresso shot with chocolate and whipped cream (still tasty though, just different). The selection of pastries was perfect, everything from macaroons and croissants to some other interesting treats I've never seen before. They also had a large variety of ham and cheese sandwiches, which are quite common in Spain. Their fresh yogurt was delicious as well. The best item I had though was their bacon quiche, it they have it available, it is delectable.
The decor here looks like the apartment of a woman in her 20's, it's cute with wooden signs and posters with memorable quotes and words of wisdom and inspiration. The vibe really fits. They also make fresh OJ, not with a machine, but by hand. They also have wifi. Stop by here and enjoy yourself, you...
Read moreThe ambient seems pretty good for a meeting or a remote work, and the wifi worked nicely. But I had a very bad experience with the staff.
I entered the cafe right after coming from another one where the wifi didn’t work and I needed it for an assignment, so I asked the only guy there to test the connection before asking for any food or drink (obviously if it didn’t work I wouldn’t stay there). He gave me the password and already asked me what would I want, and again I explained to him that I just needed to test it on my computer first.
Apparently he didn’t like it and told me that I couldn’t stay if I was not going to order. I went back to the table and as soon as I saw that the connection worked well, I asked him if they had a menu with the prices so I could choose something and he said no. Just no. Didn’t offered me any other alternatives.
I don’t know if he was having a bad day or what but as someone who works with customers I know this is not the way you treat them. I felt really unwelcome, so I left without consuming and can’t have a saying...
