I visited Barcelona in June and ended up staying at this hostel purely because it was slightly cheaper than the others and I absolutely loved it. I believe the reason it’s called a “hostel” is that in some rooms the bathroom is inside the room, but the toilet is shared on the floor. I think a few rooms also have both a private bathroom and toilet. The rooms were spotless. Breakfast was included and more than sufficient. Although it didn’t seem to be in a very central location, we had no trouble getting around there was a metro station right nearby, though we chose to walk to most places. Outside of breakfast, water and coffee were free. It was lovely to return during the day and enjoy a coffee in the common area with its stunning view. The only downside was that our room was very close to the main door, so the noise was a bit disturbing. Also, the automatic light in the hallway seemed broken it kept turning on and off all night, with the light shining under the door. As a bonus, there’s a Mango Outlet store on the same street, so don’t forget to check it out while you’re there! PSI: the building itself was a true work of art.

Very nice place to stay! Historical building and rooms equipped in vintage style. Don't expect luxury, but if you like hotels with soul, it's here! 4* only due to to some noise coming from the water pump. Otherwise 5*. Very clean. Cleaning everyday. Very good breakfast and very, very nice stuff! Visited the same place again after 2 years and if was even better! Now they deserve full 5* and I'll be happy to come again!

Booked a trip for my mom and brother, they had the best time ever thanks to the Hostal Girona staff. Beautiful room, nice view outside, close to everything. The staff is kind and very welcoming. They also helped us send back the sunglasses my brother had left behind. Truly a hotel I would recommend to everyone coming, I promise you won't regret it!

Stayed for 8 nights.

We were supposed to stay in 2021 but due to COVID circumstances in the world we had to push this forward another year and they accommodated this very well by offering credit and booking us in a year in advance. We were put into a room with a private toilet and shower which looked into a huge but quiet courtyard.

There was an included light breakfast, offering a selection of cheeses, cold meats, bread, granola and more which we didn’t expect, a great added bonus. There was a very nice lady who made sure the food was stocked up, very pleasant and smiles.

Throughout the 8 days numerous people were on the desk and were all polite. We were in room 1 which was unfortunately situated right by the reception desk and breakfast/communal space as a result it can be quite loud in the morning with the front door, communal space and the gentleman/manager when it would be his turn on the desk he was constantly talking very loudly throughout the morning knowing there are guests nearby in the room, the others that would attend the desk were very quiet however and caused no issues.

The hot drinks machine in the communal area does also make loud unnecessary beeps throughout the morning and night when someone is using it, haven’t seen one before that makes so much noise and multiple beeps.

The room offered air-con, which helped when we closed the window at night to keep the hot air and any bugs from coming in. Building has a working lift which is quiet.

Very nice and clean, bed was changed midway through our 8 nights without us asking which was nice.

One thing I found very convenient was everything is within walking distance in the city. The metro, buses, gothic quarter is all very close by but just far enough to not be right in the hustle and bustle of it all.

Thanks for a nice stay, I wish you and the team at Hostal Girona a...

To be as honest and objective as possible, I didn’t expect to be writing this, especially cause I enjoyed the room, breakfast area, and found most staff members very friendly. However on my checkout, a member of staff(short hair, big boned) offered to keep my 3 bags inside the staff storage room. I trusted her completely as one of them was a fully stuff exotic Celine Phantom handbag(€3600). There was a big protest outside so I thought leaving valuables with them would save me from being pickpocketed. ||||To my surprise as I retrieved the bags, one of them was originally inside my Celine, while my Celine has mysteriously vanished, along with my passport and other major valuables.(professional behaviour to maintain the quantity of items) Without drawing any (despite obvious) conclusions I requested to glance at the storage room to confirm that my Celine hasn’t be misplaced instead of being stolen. I really trusted the staff and I believed she safely stored the Celine separately for extra security. I was wrong. ||||Meanwhile the male receptionist acted bizarrely defensive yelling the exact words “we never touch your bag, go away, I’m having enough of you, you’re getting on my nerves” and that I was not allowed to even go through cctv footages from after I left the hostel to spot the potential thief. Besides being a main suspect, he utterly dismissed my perspective and treated me as if I was “making up stories” as he said. Feeling helpless and miserable, I would have appreciated one simple apology or a little sympathy.(not to mention they are liable to damages and compensations) ||||I have recorded some videos of his hysterical reactions for my lawyer as a piece of evidence. I genuinely don’t mean to shame anyone I’m just stating facts for constructive purposes. Peace...
